The effect finding out about 9/11 had on my relationships with my friends and family was definitely a challenge. Initially I found talking about the issue a demoralising and mostly unsuccessful venture. Their rejection of the information hit me pretty hard but I knew I lacked a strong grasp of the subject matter.

So he took a three-month course in Troofology....

BBC Conspiracy Files Takes on 7/7 Troofers

Been looking for this one for the last week or so. They did a bang-up job on WTC-7, and I am confident they've done the same here, although I'll admit I'm just watching it now. Based on past episodes, expect the first half of the show to present fairly and in a reasonably attractive light the conspiracy theories. The second half is generally where the solid debunking will be found.

Update: Terrific! As predicted, about halfway through the segment you'll be saying that they have been far too generous to the 7/7 Troofers. And then in the second half they come through with a scythe and cut them off at the knees. Just awesome!

My only criticism? I do wish they'd been a bit more definitive on the Peter Power segment. If, as they say, Power really only was close on two of the three locations, why not show us the one that he got wrong, and where it was on the London Tube map compared to the actual location of the third subway bomb?

I was thrilled to see Rachel North featured prominently in the show; she is truly a survivor. They do make an interesting point towards the end; that Britain is much more susceptible to 7/7 Trooferism, and that it is simultaneously more dangerous, because there is a large Muslim minority in the UK and unlike US Muslims, they have not been generally integrated into society.

British 7/7 Troofers Have An Adventure

Holocaust Denier and 9/11 and 7/7 Fruitcake Nick Kollerstrom and a prominent 7/7 "researcher" were planning on giving a talk in London. But some debunkers got wind of the meeting and let the hall where the talk was to take place know about some of Kollerstrom's theories and the kooks were uninvited.

With reptilian cunning Obachike has determined the scores of phone calls that Conway Hall received complaining about the event was actually a secret operation to prevent the truth of what happened on July 7th being spread to the eleven people who planned to attend. This was further proved after the MOD infiltrated the left wing book shop Housmans who shocked everyone by also refusing to host a holocaust denier.

So they adjourned to a pub nearby where Kollerstrom and Obachike gave their spiel. Here's how a fellow troofer described it:

Everyone having paid £5 he led us around Holborn for a while, getting lost once before stopping at a closed down Thai restaurant which Daniel told the "crowd" (12-15 people including 4 of us by my count) the security services must have had shut down to stop his vital info getting out there. Locals said it had been closed for at least a week though.

Then he proceeded to take us to a loud bar on Kingsway which the manager told us was free to reserve an area in. So essentially he charged everyone a £5 (and no doubt had a refund from Conway Hall as well) to sit in a pub.

Basically, this is about control of the UK "Truth" Movement, which actually makes the US movement look sane by comparison. Remember, David Shayler was originally the face of the Troof in Britain, until he smoked so much weed that he thought he was the son of god. Now Kollerstrom is probably the most famous Troofer over there, and Tony Gosling, who runs the UK Truth forum, is supporting him despite the fact that Kollerstrom seems even more deranged than Shayler.

Stefan (the Troofer who wrote about the event) is apparently a We Are Change London member. Obachike claims that We Are Change is a Ministry of Defense cointelpro plot.

The funny thing is that Stefan comes off as the sane one on that board. Kollerstrom (posts as Astro3 over there) is clearly unbalanced, and Obachike (Chi_of_Life) sounds like a bit of a thug.

And that's funny because over at the Truth Action forums there's a long thread going on about the CIT-heads again. And guess who's sticking up for the Pentacon? Yep, it's Stefan again. (Note: the thread starts off being about Kirk Sonnenfeld, the FEMA videographer, but eventually everybody agrees that's a dry hole, and the conversation turns around to Aldo and Craig).

And there Stefan comes off as the lunatic. Apparently CIT now claim to have 13 eyewitnesses who all corroborate the north of Citgo approach. Now this alone is very suspicious. CIT loves to do the old "What are the odds that they're all wrong?" But I would like to switch that around on them. What are the odds they're all "right"?

For the sake of argument, let's suppose that the north of Citgo claim is correct. We know that eyewitnesses are notoriously unreliable, but let's say that 70% of the eyewitnesses should remember things correctly and 30% would get details wrong. Based on those probabilities, what are the odds that 13 out of 13 eyewitnesses would validate the NOC approach?

Less than 1% (0.97% to be precise). Yep, the CIT-heads love to claim that because their witnesses all corroborate each other it strengthens their theory; in fact it reveals that there are almost certainly witnesses that did not back up the NOC approach that CIT has chosen to ignore. And over at JREF, some of the posters show that actually some of the 13 do not back up the NOC approach, so CIT apparently got their uniformity by lying about it.

Brit Troofer Drowns

Apparently he ran this website. Predictably, the idiots are speculating that he knew too much.

Wonderful other stuff he did, about mysteries and the paranormal and computer gizmos – he was really clever. And, he had quite high hit rates on his very professionally-managed websites. I believe he was optimistic and buoyant with all his future plans, and don’t even think of his wanting to take his own life. Did he just happen to go for a swim in the middle of February, and get drowned by a shore where he had lived for years? I don’t think so….

My sympathies go out to his family and friends, except of course that turd Kollerstrom.

Brit 7/7 Troofer Arrested for Perversion of Justice

Typical fruitcake:

A 60-year-old man wanted in the UK on a charge of perverting the course of justice during the trial of a number of men in connection with the London bomb attacks has appeared in the High Court this afternoon.

Anthony John Hill, orginially from Sheffield, was arrested on Carrig Street in Kells this morning on foot of a warrant issued by the authorities in Britain.

It is alleged he sent DVDs entitled "7/7 Ripple Effect" to the jury, the judge and members of the victims' families.

I hope this story turns out okay, but it's still unresolved as of now. A German woman named Natalie Bracht apparently emigrated to England with her five daughters. She started acting a little nutty and the authorities became concerned for her children's well-being. An interim care order was issued, but before it could be enforced, she and the kids had fled.

At some point she began talking to the British Truthers and they apparently became involved in shielding her. She claims that she knows that the London Tube bombings of 7/7/05 did not involve Muslims, and that there is going to be an attack on American soil in Ireland (this doesn't make much sense unless she's talking about an embassy) in order to do something. She mixes in a lot of talk about Israel. Tony Gosling, who is a bigwig in the UK 9-11 fruitcakes (and a Bilderberger nutbar as well) interviewed her; if you can make heads or tales out of her claims you're better than I. But of course the nutbars are all in solidarity with her. Gosling was later detained and his home searched; of course the Truthers get their panties twisted over that, never mind that if the woman does an Andrea Yates they'll probably natter about how they should have done more to save the kids.

Natalie Bracht's parents plead for her to turn herself in. Even Gosling suggests that she's gone far enough, although he turns around in the next breath and hopes that she's managed to escape to Holland.

BTW, I am still planning on focusing on the No-Planers and CIT in the next couple of weeks, but it's the sort of thing that requires a little bit of research, so have patience.

It's Not Often We Agree With 9-11 Deniers

But there was an interesting segment in a recent roundtable (MP3 file) on the 9-11 "Truth" Movement in the UK that had me nodding my head in stunned agreement.

The moderator's last question to the roundtable was for people to mention their favorite movies, books, websites, etc., for 9-11 information. There are the predictable suggestions of Press For Truth and Loose Change and 9-11 Blogger. But one of the panelists (at about 68:20) says:

I would suggest the debunking sites. Go to 9-11 Myths (crosstalk), go to Screw Loose Change.

Now of course, we have come up many times on Truther podcasts and broadcasts, but usually the context is less than complimentary. Not this time:

Look at all those sites; there's no point on campaigning on them. If they can be debunked, why would you campaign on them?... The point is that too many people do campaign on the points that are debunked. People hear this information from the campaigners, and then go to 9-11 Myths and go, "Oh, well that's all a load of nonsense." Really, really educate yourselves. Don't go campaigning until you've done six months of research on what is cast-iron solid evidence.

Oh, Lord, if only we could get people to agree to stop talking about the silly stuff like "faster than freefall" or "squibs" or "fire can't melt steel"! I'm not quite sure what he means by cast-iron solid evidence; at one point the panel spends a hilarious couple minutes talking about the put options and how they were never cashed in, which betrays an economic illiteracy that is perhaps not surprising from a panel which is skewed far left with lots of talk about the importance of economic justice (i.e., socialism). Put options in the money are automatically cashed in at maturity. Ask a broker and then stop talking about the put options not being exercised, mmmmkay?
