Troofer Plans to Sue Glenn Beck

Don't expect this case to get much past the initial filing:

Specifically, Greg Hoover will be suing the above-described defendants in Federal Court for Beck’s having repeatedly broadcast statements characterizing those who question the government’s official version of the events of 9/11 as, "anarchists," "terrorists" and as persons denying the Holocaust.

The complaint will note that - on October 22, 2007 - Beck suggested that those identifying themselves as associated with the 9/11 truth movement are "dangerous" "anarchists" who deny the Holocaust, and are "the kind of group that Timothy McVeigh would come from."

Relatively non-controversial statements there, but apparently Mr Hoover (whom I have never heard of before) feels his reputation has been defamed.

Update: More lawsuit threats (and loads of profanity) in this call between Troy and Derek Johnson of Gage's Gaggle of Geese:

Note that Johnson, like almost all Troofers, has "interesting facial hair". What's up with that?

Are We About to Get Conservative Truthers?

I don't know, but that idiot Glenn Beck is getting pretty close.

We are a country that is headed towards socialism, totalitarianism, beyond your wildest dreams. I have to tell you: I’m doing a story tonight that I wanted to debunk – these FEMA camps – I’m tired of hearing about them – you know about them? - I wanted to debunk them. We’ve now for several days done research on them. I can’t debunk them! If you trust our government, it’s fine. If you have any kind of fear that we might be heading towards a totalitarian state: look out. Buckle up. There’s something going on in our country … that ain’t good.

Hooo boy! Over at JREF they have a phrase, "the mark of woo". A new poster will sign up and in his first post he'll say something like, "I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I do have one or two questions..." sounding quite reasonable. Of course three or four posts later he's doing the "freefall speed into its own footprint! 84% of the people agree 9-11 was an inside job."

This is similar. How many times have we heard 9-11 Troofers start out saying "I tried to debunk this but I couldn't." Brad Waddell used that exact formulation during the intro to 9-11 Mysteries. Sherry Clark said she became a truther after trying (and failing) to debunk Loose Change (which of course says more about her than about Loose Change). Richard Gage became a Truther after hearing DRG on the radio and being unable to debunk him. In fact I think even the Great God Griffin claims that it was his own inability to debunk 9-11 Troof that compelled him to write New Pearl Harbor.

Yes, Glenn, the FEMA death camps are real. We've got a Chinese-made guillotine that will fit that neck of yours just perfectly.

Troofers Stalking Glenn Beck

We have seen this so many times in the past, I wasn't even going to bother making a post on it, but this time a bunch of troofers stalking Glenn Beck while he is out promoting his new book is taking a bizarre turn, they are claiming that he has Secret Service protection:

U.S. taxpayers footed the bill for four police to man the event at the second appearance in Columbus, along with several other plain clothed officers and even Secret Service officials who, according to demonstrators, questioned Ron Paul supporters.

Activists claimed that Beck's employees admitted Secret Service were chaperoning Beck, leading to charges that Beck is being directly bankrolled and protected by the government to spew his propaganda.

One man was questioned about Ron Paul as he lined up to meet Beck.

"I know it wasn't one of these people (the Ron Paul supporters)," he remarked.

"They looked like former military officers," he added.

Now what exactly does a former military officer look like?
