LTC Shaffer Bails on the Treason Conference

I was surprised his name was attached to this conference in the first place, so I am not surprised he didn't end up showing up. He makes it clear in his video that he is not a truther, but instead calls for another investigation (probably because the last one turned up absolutely no evidence to support his claims).

I am wondering though if he ever intended to show up in the first place. He alludes in the video that he can't make it because of a military obligation. All indications are that LTC Shaffer is still a serving reserve officer. Except when it conflicts with a holiday though, the first weekend of the month is drill weekend for most reservists. This is something that is laid out well ahead of time, and Shaffer would have known that fact before committing to appear at a conference.

I can just imagine him trying to get time off from his CO.

"Yeah boss, I am wondering if I could SUTA March drill to go to the Treason in America conference where I was going to hang out with a bunch of conspiracy theorists that accuse the country, without proof, of murdering thousands of its own citizens. I don't believe this personally, of course."

"Are you ****ing high? Get out of my office."



Needless to say though, this is not making him popular among the truthers.
