The "No Todd Beamer" Theory

This is hilarious:

The Discovery Channel documentary, 'The Flight That Fought Back', produced by London-based Brook Lapping Productions,is based on research evidence includingthe 9/11 Commission Report and voice recordings leftby passengers and crew members of United flight 93,including the famous "Let's roll" call to action, frompassenger Todd Beamer. There is only one problem:Todd Beamer does not exist.Do a Social Security Death Index search for ToddBeamer at :

http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/

You get one record with the date of birth as SEPTEMBERELEVENTH, 1968 and date of death as 6/10/97. Of the passengers and crew of Flight 11, 77, 175 & 93,only 22%, 22%, 28%, 13% respectively are in the SocialSecurity Death Index.

Of course, there is a simple reason for this:

The SSDI does not include death records for everyone who has been issued a Social Security Number (card). Common reasons for exclusion include the following:

* The death was not reported to the Social Security Administration (SSA).
* The death occurred before the Death Master File was maintained in a computer database. About 98 percent of the deaths in this database occurred between 1962 and the present.
* The person did not participate in the Social Security program.
* Survivor death benefits were (are) being paid to dependents or spouse.
* A recent death may not be indexed yet.
* Human error. (Before you give up, read the section titled "Missing Entries in the SSDI.")

Hmmm, perhaps survivor benefits are being paid to his wife and children?

  1. Better question, why were the passenger counts on the planes unusually low? Can you find if this happens regularly? Remember Northwood talking about fake passenger lists who would actually be government agents? 2+2. Not saying it happened on 9/11, but just some food for thought.

  2. Circumstantial evidence is the best evidence!

My second favorite is the "debate style" when CT'ers say "Hey, but what about this!" and then post links to 3 different hour long home movies then leave.

  3. Are you sure it was unusual? I've been on lots of planes that were one third to half full.

  4. I was on a flight to Frankfurt once that was so empty I was the only one in my row. It was great, I put all the arms up and slept. It must have been a fake flight!

The hijackers took several test flights. It is likely they picked flights that they knew would not be full.

Now you're talking. How and why do you come to this conclusion. Is it true that emptier planes pose less risk to your mission?

  6. Yes, less passengers to intefere with the hijacking. You are able to move around the plane easier.

  7. My favorite would be, "Yes, I know over a hundred witnesses saw AA77 crash into the Pentagon, but one witness said it sounded like a missile."

  8. Don't forget, the economy had slowed dramatically prior to 9-11. Slower economy means fewer people traveling. It is really only in the last few years that the airlines have gotten so good at packing the flights. And yes, it was well-reported that the hijackers were looking for flights that didn't have a lot of passengers. It was their misfortune that Flight 93, which only had two hijacker musclemen unlike the other three flights, happened to have quite a few athletes among the passengers.

  9. The more I hear from CT believers the more I'd love to see these 9/11 CTs go to court.

Dude seriously? I want to film this. Dylan and his cronies have already written the damn screenplay. Just imagine the wacky lines from Liar Liar being delivered in a stone-cold serious A Few Good Men "You can't handle the truth!!" type of way.

Casting starts next weekend in Brooklyn. (I got dibs on one of the philosopher-turned-structural engineer roles.)

    Joan can play herself.

  10. It is in the 9/11 commission report. I know you CTs try to avoid that like kryptonite, but it would be nice if you tried reading it sometime.

The report, which is the culmination of a 20-month investigation into the plot that killed nearly 3,000 people in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania, describes the meticulous planning of hijackers who sought to exploit weaknesses in airline and border procedures by taking test flights.

    washington times on commission report

  11. Hmm take a flight with 200 potential enemies or half that? Tough decision.

It was also a Tuesday morning, not exactly the busiest time for flying.
