The Comforting Conspiracy Theory

Although the article is about the conspiracy theories surrounding Princess Diana's death, this part certainly applies to 9-11:

The great American novelist Don DeLillo, who has made paranoia his theme, long ago explained the appeal of Fayed and even LaRouche to otherwise reasonable people when he said that 'if we are on the outside, we assume a conspiracy is the perfect working of a scheme... [It] is everything that ordinary life is not. It's the inside game, cold, sure, undistracted, forever closed off to us. We are the flawed ones, the innocents, trying to make some rough sense of the daily jostle. Conspirators have a logic and a daring beyond our reach.'

Nothing Lord Stevens can say will change the minds of the readers and journalists of the Express and millions of others who feel themselves to be DeLillo's outsiders. Like children with their noses pressed at a grimy window, they try to make a 'rough sense' of the murky world beyond by imagining that the British government - of all incompetent institutions - has the ruthless intelligence to get away with organising an astonishing crime. You can't explain away their fantasies with the half-rational explanation that they are manifestations of wider conflicts - not least because the overwhelming majority of Express readers aren't Muslim. They believe in this conspiracy theory, as they will believe in the next one, because conspiracy theories bring order to a chaotic universe. The hundreds of pages of patiently collected witness statements will make no difference to those who are too frightened to accept the messiness of life.

Wow, BG. You really aren't that bright, are you?

Keyword: "remains". That says nothing about the size of those remains.

Usually, when a commenter makes a comment as was just made by r.lange, somebody like James or Pat, seemingly more capable of intelligent discourse make a comment to clean up the mess and put the GS on more sound footing.

I await this arrival.......

For those of you here who continue to body slam me with your insults, wake up.

The more you body slam, the more I fight back with the weapon that will win the battle. That weapon is the evidence and the truth.

It's not ad-hominem if he's simply stating the truth. He's absolutely right, by the way, "you really aren't that bright". Ofcourse, I think he's under-stating things a bit, but that's ok, he's just trying to be polite.

The more you body slam, the more I fight back with the weapon that will win the battle.

Spam?

Could you, or somebody address the story at the link I posted?

Apparently my alleged ad hominem was quite appropriate. You seem to get derailed quite easily (ADD perhaps?). You see what you believe to be an ad hominem, then stop reading. Cute.

I addressed, although not in detail, the story in my first post. As it is off-topic, it deserves nothing more than that, in my opinion.

Stop playing games.

Once again BG displays the logic of the CT movement. The government pulls off the most massively complex operation ever, without leaving behind any solid evidence to implicate them, and without having a single whistle blower come forward. What do they do next?

They invent a diagram of body parts found, and put most of the locations outside of the building.

Alright, which one of you clowns was in charge of THAT part of the operation?

Eh?

I wasn't disputing the locations where body parts were found. I'm quite familiar with those diagrams. However, BG's link claims that the diagram is "a complete fabrication-- just another part of the hoax". THAT is what I was addressing.

It is pretty simple really.......Hanjour was very skilful pilot he managed to see the Pentagon on approach and thought to himself where can I do the most damage.....are if I hit this building head on it will cause enormous damage...wait a minute what if I survive....I know I will do a 270 degree turn and hit the part that is under construction......I will need evidence of this I had better notify the FBI and have them confiscate all the videos of my crash so they can see what I have done is truly honourable.......now how do I get this damn thing to slip into a really confined space and do less damage (in case I survive).....I know I will computer animate myself into a 16 foot hole and they will see how truly honourable I am (in case I survive)
