Some Quick Links

First of all, I apologize to those who've emailed me recently; I'm getting bombarded with spam which makes it disheartening to open the email folder.

We welcome a new debunker, TruthWatch UK. Good sense of humor, and the blogger appears to have some pretty good contacts among the British Troofers.

Our longtime commenter Edmund Standing has a must-read article on the pseudo-science of the "Truthers" including Steven Jones and Judy Wood:

Rather than seeking to have his 'research' published in credible, peer reviewed academic journals, Jones simply started his own. The online 'Journal of 9/11 Studies' seeks 'to provide evidence-based, peer-reviewed research that furthers the cause of truth and justice'. As such, it largely publishes articles focusing on the supposed 'controlled demolition' of the twin towers, but has also included a variety of sociological and political pieces, including a desperate article which claims that it is psychological blocks, as opposed to a complete lack of evidence, that stops more people subscribing to 9/11 conspiracy theories.

We covered for a bit the story of tax protestor Ed Brown and Jason Gerhard, the We Are Change member who was busted for helping them in their standoff with federal marshals. Here's a blog covering the trial, which is now at the deliberation stage. Get this detail on Jason:

He described Jason as someone who was spoiling for a fight and who was very … interested … in his gun.

From an email Jason sent:

I choose to enjoy porn while fondling my gun at Ed Brown’s house. Try it one day. It’s the best of all possible worlds.

I'm afraid I'll have to take your word for it, Jason!
