Folks Just Keep Not Going to 9-11 Blogger At An Impressive Clip

Traffic over there was about 765,000 for the first six months of 2009; for the comparable period in 2008 it was about 1,147,000, so about a third of their readers have left. As further evidence, consider that the traffic for the first six months of 2007 was about 1,508,000, so they've lost half their readership in the last two years.

Reality Continues to Crash In at 9-11 Blogger

Any doubt that the 9-11 Truth Movement is starting to smell like a week-old clove of garlic in the sink should be over by now, but I never tire of fresh evidence. As you probably know, interest in the Troofers tends to peak a bit in September and then subside. In 2008 that did not change, but the extent did. After month over month August to September jumps of 34% in 2006 and 36% in 2007, the traffic at 9-11 Flogger only increased by 11% in September 2008 over the prior month. And in October things got even worse. Traffic at 9-11 Blogger was down to 142,838 last month. That's the lowest total over there since June 2006 (excluding March 2008, when Sitemeter was delaying page loads, and many blogs, including 9-11 Blogger disabled it). Year over year the decline from October 2007 is 39%.

BTW, I usually close these posts by noting that yes, indeed our traffic too is declining. But I can't do that this time around. Our traffic in October was down a little bit compared to 2007, but only off about 7% to 44,356 or about 1500 per day. In fact, I used to have a general rule of thumb that we'd get about 1/5th to 1/6th the traffic over at 9-11 Blogger, but that's also ceased to be the case. The last four months we've been between 1/4th and 1/5th of their traffic, but this month we were almost 1/3rd.

So it looks like people are tiring of 9-11 Truth, but not tiring of laughing at the Troofers. And, strange as it seems, neither am I.

Traffic Numbers Continue to Decline at 9-11 Flogger

Maybe it's all the people that Reprehensor is banning, like yours truly, that is resulting in the steady drop in traffic that is obvious over there. I remarked a few months ago, that February 2008 was one of the first times that I can recall that traffic over there declined on a year over year basis. Well, it's become quite common. During March the sitemeter was disconnected for much of the month, but it was working again by the end of that month. In April, they had 194,000 visitors; that was off an incredible 125,000 visitors from the year earlier period, or a 39% decline. In May 2008 they had 190,000 visitors, off from the year earlier's 301,000 by 37%. June looks likely to be all the way down to 166,000, which would be the lowest month since July of 2006.

The tide is turning, folks!

Update: In answer to the questions in the comments, yes our traffic is off too. Basically our traffic has been somewhere between 1/5th and 1/6th of 9-11 Blogger's for the last year. But (as you may have noticed) we don't carry advertising, so our traffic decline doesn't cost any money. 9-11 Blogger has scads of advertising and I am sure their revenues are hurting. Nothing would make me happier than to see both our traffic and 9-11 Blogger's decline even further.

Troof Movement Growing, But Slowly

At least on a year over year basis. I've been checking the sitemeter at 9-11 Blogger for awhile, and up till now it's made me caution those who would declare this movement dead.

The traffic at 9-11 Blogger is a good gauge of interest in the 9-11 conspiracy theories. As you would expect, the traffic over there tends to peak around September, with that month showing the highest traffic in both 2006 and 2007. This shows the cyclical nature of 9-11 conspiracy interest, and indicates that a year over year comparison is probably best.

In June of 2006, there were 120,000 visitors to 9/11 Blogger. A year later, in June 2007, the traffic was 238,000, almost double the prior year. That's pretty explosive growth, the kind a movement needs if it's going to become a force to be reckoned with. In July of 2006, the traffic was 149,000, which increased to 231,000 in July of 2007. That's a 55% increase; still strong but nowhere near as strong as the June increase.

In August 2006, the traffic was almost 240,000. In August 2007, it was up to 248,000; an increase to be sure, but only a 3.6% gain compared to a year earlier. In September 2006, they drew 322,000. Last month they got 337,000, about 4.6% higher year over year.

It is an open question as to whether they will show any growth year over year in October. Last October they drew 308,000, an average of almost 10,000 per day. Yesterday they pulled in 8,800.

Caveats? About the only one I can think of is the internal squabbling with items like the Kennebunkport Warning dividing the movement. However, the trend towards slower growth was established in August when everybody still thought Webster Tarpley was doing outreach to the peace movement.

So the movement is far from dead, but it's also far from the fast-growing phenomenon that it might have been seen as only a few months ago. And when you consider that it's only 4.6% of the population to begin with, slow growth means they're doomed to failure in their effort to oust the Bush regime.

How Is Mark Roberts Wrong?

An astounding post over at 9-11 Blogger:

I know some of you believe this is a no-brainer. You might say, "oh, well Mark Roberts is a schill or an idiot" but consider for a minute that he is another human being like all of us. (and for the record I am not a Mark Roberts apologist) However, I just spent well over 5 hours (more than I would have liked to really) reading over his material and I have a simple question; How is Mark Roberts wong? Please do not come at me with disinfo non-sense or any sort of character assault. I have read his material and have my own opinions on the matter.

Every now and then we encounter a real truthseeker; most of them are just interested in finding something that backs up their predetermined conclusions. Ron Wieck made a very telling point the other day. We 9-11 Debunkers pore over 9-11 conspiracy sites with a great deal of zeal, while many of the Deniers actively avoid our sites in fear they will encounter something that challenges their worldview. Kudos to the poster, Iconoclast, and to the one commenter thus far (Kevin Fenton) who has raised some substantive issues. I am sure that Mark will review that comment and, in the unlikely event he was mistaken, make the necessary corrections.

How Bad Is Traffic Off At 9-11 Blogger?

There have been a couple reports indicating that it has fallen off a cliff; that appears to be a gross exaggeration. These guys are my competitors for 9-11 related traffic and they are firmly in the 9-11 Denial camp, so I have no incentive to carry their water.

Some of those announcing the fall in traffic have cited Alexa as their source, but it's much simpler to just click on 9-11 Blogger's Sitemeter icon and check that way. I took a look at their traffic for the last seven days, and compared it to two weeks earlier:

11-Jul 7,775 27-Jun 8,081 96.2%
10-Jul 8,252 26-Jun 8,898 92.7%
9-Jul 7,770 25-Jun 8,580 90.6%
8-Jul 6,430 24-Jun 6,422 100.1%
7-Jul 7,016 23-Jun 5,785 121.3%
6-Jul 6,724 22-Jun 7,344 91.6%
5-Jul 7,699 21-Jun 8,587 89.7%
Totals 51,666 53,697 96.2%

So for the week as a whole, traffic was off about 2,000 visitors from the two-week earier period, and even this may be misleading as approximately 1500 of the visitor loss came on Thursday and Friday of last week, which many people may have taken off to create a five-day vacation. Not sure why the 7-7-07 traffic was up so much compared to two weeks earlier; perhaps it was the number nuts concerned that something had to be planned for that day?

Don't get me wrong; I'm not denying that the new comment moderation policy has angered a lot of people. Comments are way down over there; that's obvious. But there is scant evidence that people are deserting the site in droves.

Whole Lotta Stomping About Comment Moderation at 9-11 Blogger

Whew! James reported earlier in the week about the first decision under the Reprehensor regime being to restrict speech; looks like that's about as popular over there as I am! George Washington (aka Alex Fluom) wrote a post defending the policy. The first response got a negative 17 points, a number that would probably make Pomeroo blush. What did he say?

I'm a newbie but I fully support the proposed changes.
I want a good debate on the issues, beecause we need our intelligence were it's needed most, in finding out what really happened.

you go reprehensor

On the other hand, this got a plus 32:

well enjoy your site then because you will be virtually alone, comments and exchanging ideas & information is what the Internet is all about.
Posting something that may or may not appear in an hour or 24 hours depending on what one person thinks is utter bullsh*t and is completely unacceptable.
You will get your wish though as your bandwidth requirements will be minimal very shortly.

It's fair to say that there are some mighty unhappy people. Obviously it's not my place to tell them how to run their business (and I doubt if they'd listen to my advice anyway), but it strikes me that comment moderation will only work if it's fast and seamless. From what I can see, it's been neither. So far today, the most recent post with a comment was made at 5:33 AM. This means no conversation between the blogger and his readers, since any replies will be seen hours later.

Lord knows, comments are not an unalloyed blessing. But they are essential to a blog creating a sense of community.

Update: Apparently quite a few of the 9-11 Blogger commenters are going over here, where they're trying the opposite; to allow everything including Holocaust denial. We'll see how long that experiment lasts, as Killtown is already bidding to become the first teenager banned from every 9-11 forum.

Not Too Paranoid

Kevin Barrett puts up a post at 9-11 Blogger about how he's going to Morocco to find the missing hijackers:

Barrett voiced his outrage that such a brutal, ruthless terrorist has been allowed to commit mass murder and suicide—and walk away scot free. “Waleed al-Shehri, I’m coming to get you!” Barrett vowed. “I don’t know how you got out of that plane alive, but that was the last miraculous escape you’ll ever make. You’re coming back to the US in handcuffs with me to face charges of mass murder and terrorism.”

That's what passes for humor from Barrett, but of course the goofballs in the comments section get it completely wrong:

Kevin, this is a great idea... but don't tell everyone your plans in detail!

They guys we're up against are serious and evil people. Be careful...

Come on people. We have to be more careful.
Don't we all come here to Blogger first thing each morning?
So do "they".
No upcoming actions of this sort should be announced in advance.

You REALLY shouldn't be announcing this in advance...

You guys need to realize that we are endangering both of these people's lives. This is not something to brag about, yet. What if something happens to them?! They will then make it seem like an accident. Come on! Please. Am I rational here?

If you're this concerned--and you could be right--, then click the "contact us" under our logo and email any of the mods. They might not see your post in a timely fashion.

This sort of reveals the flaw in Barrett's decision to become the funnyman of 9-11 Denial.

Nico Haupt News

First off, we've got an obvious Nico imposter posting occasionally in the comments here. If you see a comment from Ewing2001, do not assume it's really Nico. Check the link under his name; if it's leads you here, it's the imposter. You can tell that it's not really Nico, because that blogger profile reads:

It's been a rough six years, but I'm turning over a new leaf. I hope many I've offended can forgive me in time.

And at the phony Nico Haupt blog, there's an apology to 9-11 Blogger.

I apologize to dz and 911Blogger for not only slandering your person and your site, but also for my inexcusable trolling before you banned anonymous posts. It was nasty and juvenile, and there was no excuse.

That this is not really Nico is obvious from this post over at 9-11 Blogger:

According to Les Jamieson, leader of the NY group:

"On Sunday Jan. 21st Nico Haupt came to our Sunday event at St. Marks Church. He interrupted it and caused a huge disturbance. When people tried to oppose him he just cursed them out. Then he taped a printout of the email below (archive) on the wall. I'm sorry for any shock or disgust you'll experience, but I think it's important that this be seen."

The email went on to include photos depicting prominent 9/11 activists and Websites - including 911Blogger - depicted as associated with nazi imagery, swastikas, concentration camps and excrement.

John Albanese, who posted the claim about Nico's actions, wants him arrested for a hate crime, which is ridiculous. There is certainly some offensive stuff on that page, but free speech allows us to be offensive. This is not remotely the same thing as spray-painting a swastika on the side of a synagogue.

Anyway, I'm going to do my best to remove the phony Nico's posts.

If you're wondering why I handle the real Nico so gently, it's because he's actually quite a bit more reasonable than many other 9-11 Deniers. He doesn't insult people here, he doesn't insult the firefighters or the passengers or their families or the pilots or Edna Cintron, or engage in Holocaust Denial. I can point out many, many instances of the more prominent, supposedly more mainstream 9-11 Deniers who cannot say the same. His news aggregator is one of my regular stops looking for bloggable content.

And I think he's dead on the money when he talks about the movement and the efforts by various cults to subvert it to their own ends.

9-11 Blogger Can't Handle the Truth!

Well, is this a bit of hilarious Stalinism from the "Truthers" over at 9-11 Blogger, or what? One of the bloggers over at TruthMove.org created a post at 9-11 Blogger about Eric D. Williams, the Holocaust Denier who's running the 9-11 Accountability Conference. It certainly generated a lot of attention, with something like 50 replies. But... you probably guessed it, it's been disappeared. Possibly by edict of Commissar Reprehensor?

Update: The post has reappeared.

Update II: My apologies to 9-11 Blogger and Reprehensor. We have seen the Loose Change board frequently remove posts from their forum on many occasions and I assumed that was what happened here. Nico gives a possible explanation in the comments that seems logical.

They're Still Just Movies, Or Cartoons

Sheesh, these Deniers see something of 9-11 in everything on TV and in the theatres. Here's a guy who's a big fan of the Star Wars series:

Parallels have often been drawn before between this tale that George Lucas wrote into his film saga and true history and even current world events. Lucas has even admitted history’s influence on his scripts. But I would like to point to a little more specific parallel that is not so apparent to us, particularly from a Christian point of view. I would like for you to consider that maybe the Church today is in that scene fighting with a Count Dooku, saber blow for saber blow, just like Anakin was. And like the fictional account, we are headed towards the point when we will have our saber and the enemy’s in our hands with him knelt before us in defeat or possibly the opposite. And like Skywalker, we might have the opportunity to behead him out of revenge instead of justice. But wait a minute, don’t get ahead of me. What about the entire back story involved? Does it apply to our real life situation as well? I propose that not only is it possible that this is the case, but there is great historic precedent that it is.

I think his point is that false-flag terrorism exists. But check out the comments on that post as well:

My first exposure to the concept of the false flag came from The Princess Bride.

And the capper:

Please don't tell me you never watch Scooby Doo cartoons

Every episode involved FFT
