Arcterus to Interview Hoffman

One of the newer Truth Action guys is going to interview Jim Hoffman on Friday and eventually post it on YouTube.

One question I hope will be asked is whether Hoffman would care to debate Mark Roberts as Arcterus himself suggested a few weeks ago:

Mark Roberts seemingly debates only with those who fall for all the hoax theories or are ill-informed. I've never once heard him debate with Jim Hoffman, one of the best researchers in the movement I think, or any other such discerning researchers.

I obviously can't speak for Roberts or the Hardfire folks, but I personally believe that they would be willing to entertain such a debate.

Why, Indeed, Does the Baloney Avoid the Grinder?

Because when it doesn't it ends up looking as silly as Richard Gage does, with his boxes analogy:

From about 24 minutes into part 2 of the Hardfire debate with Mark Roberts that James has already linked. Notice how calm and comfortable Gravy is compared to the Gagemeister. Gage comes off as the nut he is.

Mark Roberts vs. Richard Gage

The Hardfire debate between Mark Roberts, who has apparently entered the New World Order debunker relocation program, now sporting a beard, and Richard Gage is now up. Interestingly enough this has not been posted on ae911truth.org or any of the other truther sites I have looked at. Odd they don't want people to watch it. I can't get the embed to work, but you can find it on Google Video here.

Why I Won't Be Appearing On Air America's Clout

Air America is doing a show on the "Pentagon Flyover" theory espoused by Craig Ranke, Rob Balsamo and others. I won't be appearing on the show, for several reasons:

1. I wasn't invited. No shock there; the last time a Truther invited me to be on a radio show was my debate with Jason Bermas on the Rob Bishop show, which garnered record ratings. Record ratings and no invite back? I'll take that as a compliment.

2. The Pentagon Flyover theories are so absurd that Reprehensor, who allows conspiracy theories about everything under the sun has decided to ban them at 9-11 Blogger, the flagship of the "Truthers".

3. One of the participants in the Air America debate will be Kevin "Hang 'Em High" Barrett. I have no intention of discussing anything with a Holocaust Denier.

4. I'll let Mark Roberts give the other reason:

I believe it is deeply unethical to broadcast and perpetuate the 9/11 claims of a few kooks, especially when these people have directly accused 9/11 victims, witnesses, and investigators of cowardice and lying. There is absolutely no justification for giving these people the attention they crave. It serves no rational cause. None.

Further, these people will never get the help they need if their fantasies and their disparaging of victims are encouraged. For that reason, I believe that giving them this attention is doubly unethical.

Amen. Be sure to read the entire post by Mark; he is truly an amazing individual.

Let me suggest something here to the Truthers in our audience, particularly those who disagree with the Pentagon Flyover theory, like Arabesque, Russ Pickering, and Adam of Caustic Logic. These folks are going to be on Air America tomorrow representing your movement. It is incumbent upon you to take on this mission. I don't care if Craig Ranke and Rob Balsamo become the new faces of 9-11 "Truth"; quite frankly that would represent progress to us.

Challenge to Truthers: Stump Mark Roberts!

Our buddy Gravy from the JREF forums will appear again on Ron Wieck's Hardfire program, along with Arthur Scheuerman to discuss World Trade Center 7. The show will be live at 9:00 PM Eastern time tomorrow night, February 26. Having been unable to find a 9-11 "Truther" willing to debate these gentlemen, Ron will throw open the phone lines, and 9-11 conspiracy theorists are specifically encouraged to call in with their questions and challenges.

The main number is 718-935-9598. If it's busy, call 917-763-9896.

You can watch the show live tomorrow night here.

Put up or shut up, Truthers!

Update: Kick to top for the rest of Tuesday.

When Religion and Science Don't Mix

The Journal of 9/11 Studies once again maintains its reputation for academic work expected of a poorly run alternative high school, this time with a paper by retired Religious Studies professor Graeme McQueen regarding the words of firefighters describing the damage to WTC7, as put forth by Ryan Mackey, Mark Roberts and others. The logic employed, is rather fascinating, to say the least.

But let us turn to the third statement I listed in my summary of Mackey’s argument. Is it true that FDNY members rationally concluded from what they perceived that the building was in danger of collapse? Only seven appear to have done so, whereas 50 accepted the collapse prediction from others, typically superiors.

With regard to the fourth point in the argument, is it true that the collapse warnings were mainly the result of a rational conclusion based on observation and training? No. As far as we can tell, no rational conclusion based on direct perception was made in the vast majority of cases.

Basically he is arguing that since not every description of the damage, and the collapse was withing the parameters that he would accept as definitive, that we should ignore all of them, despite the fact that he does not have a single witness to back up a contradicting argument. Amazing.

Nagasaki for the Troofers?

Mark (Gravy) Roberts releases a major update to his site.

His page on Flight 93 is magnificent. Check out the photo page particularly.

Wow. This is the sort of work that I feel humbled to link. Great job, Mark!

An Honest Trailer for the Final Cut

Dylan has said that the word he expected everybody to be saying about the Loose Change the Final Insult is "mature". Well, if the movie's anything like this trailer, he may just get his wish.

Of course, this is not a Looser than Words production. Highly recommended. Now excuse me while I grab a corndog at the snack bar!

Project Much?

Do-Over Boy engages in a little projection over at the Looser Forum:

You know, I find it interesting this coward couldn't show his face at any of the events in NYC.

But now he's safely behind the computer and e-mailing me, where he's safe.

Not too much irony in there. Mark took on the kooks last year at Ground Zero when there was actually a sizable contingent. Mark has not backed out of debates, unlike DRG and Kevin Ryan, who don't want to face The Binder of Doom. And, I might add, unlike Dylan himself, who agreed to debate me on Rob Bishop's show and then disappeared, and who did a virtual Houdini on the Hardfire debate.

Ron & Mark on Schroeder, Rodriguez

This is a fascinating discussion about the John Schroeder interview tying it in with Willie Rodriguez's claims. The only negative is that the show is only a half-hour long.

How Is Mark Roberts Wrong?

An astounding post over at 9-11 Blogger:

I know some of you believe this is a no-brainer. You might say, "oh, well Mark Roberts is a schill or an idiot" but consider for a minute that he is another human being like all of us. (and for the record I am not a Mark Roberts apologist) However, I just spent well over 5 hours (more than I would have liked to really) reading over his material and I have a simple question; How is Mark Roberts wong? Please do not come at me with disinfo non-sense or any sort of character assault. I have read his material and have my own opinions on the matter.

Every now and then we encounter a real truthseeker; most of them are just interested in finding something that backs up their predetermined conclusions. Ron Wieck made a very telling point the other day. We 9-11 Debunkers pore over 9-11 conspiracy sites with a great deal of zeal, while many of the Deniers actively avoid our sites in fear they will encounter something that challenges their worldview. Kudos to the poster, Iconoclast, and to the one commenter thus far (Kevin Fenton) who has raised some substantive issues. I am sure that Mark will review that comment and, in the unlikely event he was mistaken, make the necessary corrections.

Challenge to 9-11 Deniers: Try Your Hand at "Debunking 9-11 Debunking"

(Bumped to top for the remainder of Tuesday; scroll down for newer content)

Our debunking buddies Mark (Gravy) Roberts and Ron (Pomeroo) Wieck will be taping two Hardfire shows tonight. The first one will feature Mark and Ron discussing Kevin (Waterboy Wonder) Ryan's and William (Keymaster) Rodriguez's claims.

The second one will be a call-in show starting at 9:00 PM EDT where callers can try their luck at debunking the #1 9-11 debunker. Ron wants it to be noted that Kevin Ryan, William Rodriguez and Richard Gage are specifically invited to call in during the show. Of course, we know that Ryan will chicken out, but it is certainly possible that Willie or Gage may pick up the phone.

The call-in number:

718-935-9598

You can watch the latter show live tonight at 9:00 Eastern here:

Scroll down, and click on channel 2.

The other show (without the call-ins) will be available on Google Video at some later date.

Schroeder's Account Analyzed

More than Mark Roberts' (aka Gravy) terse, declarative writing style and his mad research skillz, what really blows me away is his organization (no, not the NWO). He analyzes the recent video of Dylan, Luke Rudkowski and others interviewing Firefighter John Schroeder. It is clear that Schroeder's account, like those of many others from that day, contains time-compression problems that make it difficult to reconcile his current account (nearly six years later) with more contemporaneous accounts. Mark has gone through the interview virtually line by line, and compared it with other accounts, then organized everything neatly. Not coincidentally, he has pointed out some of the fabrications that the questioners managed to insert into the video.

This has been a great day to be a blogger, with the opportunity to link to two terrific pieces of debunking research, without even breaking a sweat in the process.

Kudos to Mark! Let me remind the "Truthers" that if they want to try some real world debunking 9-11 debunking, they should call in tomorrow (Tuesday) night at 9:00 PM Eastern to challenge Mr Roberts and Ron (Pomeroo) Wieck. The phone-in number is 718-935-9598.

To watch the show LIVE tomorrow night,

Go here, scroll down, and click on channel 2.

(Correction for the following. The 7:00 show will not be available immediately online, so 9:00 PM tomorrow is the time to fix in your mind if you are among the hordes of Americans on the East Coast. If you are in the blighted Central Time Zone or elsewhere, do the math. We fortunate few in the West can listen in at 6:00)

Remember that the fun actually begins at 7:00 PM eastern as well, since Mark and Ron will be discussing Willie Rodriguez and Kevin Ryan, who have declined to present their baloney to the grinder thus far. Ron would like especially to invite Willie, Kevin and Richard Gage to call in.

Cover Boy for the Phoenix New Times

Stephen Lemons has been working on this article on James and me and our battle against the crackpots for the last couple of months and it's an absolute delight. Enjoy!

Update: I would be remiss if I didn't point out that Steve has his own blog over at the New Times website, called Feathered Bastard. He covers a lot of topics and manages to get himself photographed with some lovely women. Always terrific writing and a keen wit; check it out!

No-Planers Go After Willie Rodriguez

It's been awhile since we've checked in with Nico, but he did mention this post in the comments, and I thought it was worth mentioning:

William Rodriguez confirmed in his own bio, that he was actually working as an "assistant" for MindOP specialist James Randi.

Rodriguez used the stage name "Roudy", still part of his email handle.

Randi's JREF Forum is meanwhile organizing 'flagwaver' attacks against the 9/11 Truthlings, mostly influenced by 911truth.org, 911blogger.com and LooseChange.

Nico does bring up Mark Roberts' paper on Rodriguez, which puzzles him for a moment, but he comes to the 100% right conclusion:

Pushing the argument aside, that Mark Roberts would spread this analysis to 'harm the movement' because of *being a shill*, this string of logic doesn't make sense at all. Why would a 'shill' sacrifice the most important manipulator [Rodriguez] of the 9/11 Truth Movement?

Fact is, Roberts didn't make anything up and is actually just a regular "patriot" (though blindsided on the general evidence of Controlled Demolition), but his detailed timeline analysis of Rodriguez reveals factually a fraud which everyone can figure easily by himself.

Nico comes to the conclusion that Rodriguez may have been planted as a disinformation tool prior to 9-11, which of course is absurd. I agreed with him on the infiltration of the movement by cults and cultists and I stand by that opinion. But I don't buy that it's been infiltrated by agents of the government.

While reading this, though, remember that infiltration of the group by the feds is taken as a given by most "Truthers". Nico may be out on the edge with his No-Planes theories but almost all of the 9-11 Deniers agree that the Feds have agents inside the movement. This kind of paranoia is normal for them, and Nico's position here is no more extreme that that of Dylan Avery or Barrie Zwicker.

Mark Roberts Battles on Against the Nutbars!

Watch his movie, The Ground Zeros. I can't pretend to be unbiased, but my boss Moloch gives it two wings up!

The Elephant Gravyard?

Where conspiracy theories go to die. Our buddy Mark Roberts puts together his monster links compendium.

He's also put together a massive analysis of Willie Rodriguez's 9-11 claims that is pretty devastating to the keymaster.

Highly recommended!

Fetzer, Roberts & Wieck III

Starts with WTC 7 which of course is one of my favorite topics. Gravy gets off a devastating bit about "bombs and explosions".

Overall, Fetzer managed to dodge a lot of obvious problem punches. He got away with dominating the conversation. Fetzer does have some skills at debating conspiracy theories and compared to the Loosers and Les Jamieson, he acquits himself well.

I want to emphasize that is largely due to Fetzer's slipperyness, not to any superiority of fact. Mark Roberts didn't fatten his average against Uncle Fetzer because you cannot improve on 1.000. Once again Roberts surprised me with his breadth of knowledge, as did Ron.
