Get Bishop Bob Bowman for Your Event!

He's got a new webpage with details:

(Individual events are those where Dr. Bowman has to fly from wherever he is to the site of the event. Sponsors of such events are expected to pay all travel expenses plus a donation to the Patriots. If the event is set up directly through The Patriots, we normally request $3,000. If set up through a speakers’ agent, the cost may be more like $15,000, depending on the agent. Dr. Bowman’s policy is that we try to never let lack of money prevent a community from hearing Dr. Bowman’s message. Still, the cost can be daunting.)

No fooling! Fortunately if Dr Bowman is on one of his many tours, you can get him for as little as $1,000. Be sure to pick the right-size venue:

Sponsoring organizations should figure out how many people they can attract to the event and together calculate how large a venue is needed (50 seats, 200 seats, 1,500 seats, ??) and how to sell tickets in advance. (Generally, selling tickets for $10 or $20 results in MUCH larger crowds than making the event free. Often people figure that if an event is free, that’s what it’s worth, unless they’ve heard Dr Bowman before.)

Yep, you might need room for even more than 1,500 seats, you never know.

Well It is No Skateboarders for 9/11 Truth...

The troofers just formed "Lawyers for 9/11 Truth" now they have found quite possibly the only group of people currently more despised than lawyers, well unless they start up "Mortgage Bankers for 9/11 Truth", there now is a Political Leaders for 9/11 Truth. I was bit amused to see their Statement of Members list thus far though.

OK, call me crazy, but if the organization is called "Political Leaders" shouldn't you have actually have won an election first?

Bishop Bob Bowman Wakes Up Chico

Aside from the credulity of the reporterette (Bob Bowman was declared the best public speaker in the US by the LA Times?), what impresses me most about this story is the venue. Yep, the Troofers joined forces against the New World Order where? The local Masonic Lodge.

Troofernomics

Bob Bowman, who mysteriously didn't run for president this year, now writes an open letter to Barack Obama, explaining to him the "truth". Unfortunately for him, I think he is about as welcome as a potential advisor as Bill Ayers. Regardless, he repeats his bizarre truther spin on economics, the first part of which I covered a long time ago, now adding a new twist.

Productivity in this country has doubled over and over again since the 1950s. Yet wages are a fraction of what they were then! In real terms, family income is about where it was in the 1950s, but the number of hours worked per family has tripled! This means that real wages per hour worked are roughly a third of what they were in the 1950s. If workers today got the same portion of the wealth they create with their labor as we did who entered the work force in the 1950s, they could support their families with one job … working two days a week!

This claim is completely bizarre of course, they have no more an understanding of economics than they do of engineering. The number of hours per week worked has actually come down significantly over the last 100 years, peaking during WWII for obvious reasons, but about even since the 1950s. Yes, more women work, the number has moved from around 20% to 60%, but the number of men working has actually decreased as a percentage. Additionally the size of the average household has decreased, so the number of hours worked per capita would have to increase even more. So unless there is some hidden surge in child labor, amounting to about 150% of the adult working population, that we don't know about, Bishop Bob is just making this crap up.

Hire Me, or Someone You Have Never Heard of Will Hold a Press Conference

One of the things about the troofers that constantly amuses me is how they view themselves as so important.  The latest example of this is Kevin Barrett getting Bob Bowman to petition the University of Wisconsin to hire him as their own nutty professor.

On Tuesday, July 29th, the head of the "Star Wars" space weapons program under two U.S. presidents, Dr. Robert Bowman, will ask State Legislators to request the re-instatement of Dr. Kevin Barrett as a University of Wisconsin instructor. 

Col. Bowman, a rocket scientist with a doctorate from Cal Tech who flew 101 combat missions in Vietnam as a fighter pilot, will present his request to the legislature at a press conference in the State Capitol building, Room 330 Southwest, at 11 a.m. Tuesday 7/29/08. 

Kevin Barrett, the target of a 2006 witch-hunt by State Rep. Steve Nass, has not been rehired at UW-Madison, despite his repeated applications for open positions, since he finished teaching his controversial Islam course in fall 2006. His most recent application, for the spring 2008 semester, was rejected in favor of a less-qualified and less-experienced applicant. 

Does this actually work for anyone?  I have been turned down for jobs that I think I should have received.  I am going to get someone to hold a press conference on my behalf.

Bob Bowman Laments the Fall of the Soviet Union

We haven't heard much from Mr. Bowman lately, but he was on Kevin Barrett's radio show on Tuesday. Mostly the same old repeated myths, but I was rather amused to hear his mournful description of the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Well of course we got out of this predicament, because Gorbachev came in and took charge of the Soviet Union, and he didn't want to go down that path, he wanted to end the arms race, and institute a form of democracy into the Soviet Union, without losing their socialist safety net. And it was a difficult transition, and unfortunately he failed, but he did succeed in ending the arms race. I was in the Kremlin discussing with them how to do it in the 1980s, but what happened subsequently of course was that Yeltsin came and wanted to be a member of the club and wanted to introduce unfettered capitalism, threw away the social safety net altogether, which he did.

Yeah, he is just another middle-of-the-road guy.

This Must Make Their Board Meetings Rather Boring

We have often pointed out how Bob Bowman, despite his military resume, is one of the odder members of the 9/11 denial movement (which is quite an achievement in itself). Bowman has also been accused of inflating his resume on occasion, a charge which I have not seen proven 100%, but it quite likely considering how odd it is for a 70+ year old retired lieutenant colonel to list medals he got in ROTC in his biography.

So with this in mind I was not too surprised to see some research, done by troofers ironically, pointing out the the Board of Advisors and Fellows that he lists for his organization, "The Patriots", are in fact mostly dead, some of them for over a decade.

Bowman replies at the forum where this was brought up with:

This is Bob Bowman. Thanks for the excellent research. All these people have been on my advisory board since 1982-1985. I've been battling government lies for a quarter of a century. Do you think I should put an asterisk beside the names of those who have deceased? Sounds like a good idea to me. I've been pretty busy since 9/11/2001 and haven't bothered recruiting a new generation of advisors. Maybe I should do so. Of course, most of my original advisory board are still very much alive.

Does Bob Bowman Still Wear Bell Bottoms?

We haven't heard much from Colonel Bob lately, but apparently he is going retro, because I thought all of these "The oil company is hiding the carburetor that gets 150 MPH gallon" urban legends went out of style in the late 70s. Here he is on Kevin Barrett's radio show last night about 42 minutes in.

There are a lot of folks who believe that we got energy secrets from the UFOs that have been kept under wraps by the Pentagon. I am completely agnostic on all that. But I do know that there are certainly better batteries and there are ways to have better electric and super hybrid vehicles that would enormously slash the amount of gasoline that would be required.

Yeah, tell that to Toyota. I found it amusing that he is agnostic on the whole alien technology thing. Guess what else he claimed to be agnostic on, on national TV no less? Yeah, on what happened on 9/11. So you heard it here first, one of the leading figures of the 9/11 denial movement rates their theories as convincing as those regarding secret alien powerplants.

Richard Gage is actually the guest for the second hour, when I get a chance I will have to see if he has come up with anything to say that he hasn't just read on the Internet.

A Troofer View of America

Bob Bowman gives a fictional post-impeachment State of the Union address, revealing more of his nutty beliefs:

The United States is unquestionably number one in the industrialized world: number one in our use of the world's resources, number one in the production of pollution, number one in the gap between the rich and the poor, number one in deaths by gunfire, number one in teen pregnancy, number one in poverty among the elderly, number one in citizens without health coverage, number one in child poverty, number one in homeless veterans, and number one in citizens behind bars. We are the world's #1 debtor nation, #1 in the creation of new billionaires, #1 in school dropouts, #1 in poverty, homelessness, hunger, divorce, suicide, and (oh yes) #1 in military force, nuclear weapons, and military spending -- as much as all the other nations in the world combined. We also lead the world in the number of hours worked per family, since it now takes two wage-earners and three jobs to provide the income earned with one 40 hour per week job in the 1950s. Despite soaring productivity, real wages are now a third of what they were in the 1950s. If it wasn't for corporate control of our government and the resulting trickle-down economics, ordinary workers could support their families with one job … working two days a week!

Where did this guy learn his economics? Most of this crap is just made up.

Old man? At the time of the 9/11 attacks Osama bin Laden was only 44. Bob Bowman on the other hand is 73. He has never been shown to be on dialysis, and did not live in a cave. He lived in several different facilities, including Tarnak Farms, an extensive complex which could hold hundreds of people.

Can these people get anything right?
