The Idiocy is Spreading
The idiocy and paranoia is spreading to small-town America. This has to be one of the most illogical letters to the editor I have ever read, from the Spokesman Review in Spokane, Wa.
Documentary raises questions
The documentary "Loose Change" played at Spokane's Big Dipper May 10. "Loose Change" is a conspiracy theory that the "U.S. government" planned and carried out the terrorist attacks of 9-11. If true, the worldwide terrorism sponsored and financed by Washington the last half century has come home to roost.
On the other hand, the documentary may be a fatally flawed analysis of the 9-11 tragedy, or even an outright hoax. If "Loose Change" is eventually exposed as a fraud, our "fascist" government may escalate its draconian social control policies legalized by passage of the Patriot Act.
If so, Arab-Americans, undocumented immigrants, peace activists and other scapegoats may, like Japanese-Americans of World War II, end up in interment camps or worse.

This is the hallmark of conspiracy theorists, no matter which way the evidence goes, they can come up with the conclusion they want. If the movie is true, the government is evil. If the movie is not true, the government is still evil!

But one thing you fail to see is that people are afraid! Who taxes people all the way to May? Who seizes houses, assets and illegally imposes and income tax to support wars for conquest? That would the US government. People are on to them in so many levels but since the fear factor is high, they don't know which way the government is trying to screw them more. But one thing and you showed this clearly, contempt is building and the final consensus is that "the government is still evil."

Spokane is not a small town (since accuracy seems to be lacking in your arguments, I'm again encouraging attention to detail). It is a large metropolitan area of about 450,000 people. Many of whome are more aware of the dangers of government. Less than 100 miles away lies Ruby Ridge, the site where Federal agents went to great lengths in an effort to frame Randy Weaver as a domestic terrorist, active with violent white supremecy movements.
After the sytematic murder of his 12 year-old son and wife, Weaver was tried for his crimes. Testimony revealed that Weaver was a victim of a government conspiracy to bolster an illusion of domestic terrorist activities, and the government paid him millions to settle the matter out of court and avoid the embarrasing implications of the evidence.
Those who were in the area, witnessing Armored Personnel carriers filling up at the local gas station, Apache helicopters cruising the mountain ranges, and systematic data collection of those who arrived to protest the murders, have a different perspective on the potentiality of government encroachment. A small army of federal and military agencies wresting control of a US county to apprehend one dissenter.
(I was there, incidentally. It was evil.)
I graduated from high school in Spokane, and am not aware of anyone who has ever referred to it as a "metropolitian area" True, it is a large city compared to say, Colfax, but compared to Seattle, San Francisco or Chicago, it is "small town" America.
"True, it is a large city compared to say, Colfax, but compared to Seattle, San Francisco or Chicago, it is "small town" America."
So I suppose it's all predetermined by one's perspective, isn't it... which is pretty much the point I have been trying to make eslewhere on your blog.
But for the record, most people in Chicago and SF don't call it a small town, they call it "where the hell is that?".
Keep fightin' the good fight...
So proving that loose change is a fraud is equivelant to saying the authors film and reporting skills were'nt that great? The documentaries keep getting better and next time it might not be made by a 22 year old film student.
Look at issue of immigration and the "foreign lawbreakers" coming into this country in waves. Tell me, with a straight face, that the government has your best interests in mind... and not the interests of wealthy corporations. Will your attitude change if a terrorist with a WMD gets into the country from the mexican border. "We had no idea terrorists were going to use the border to smuggle in WMD." "The president did not have prior information about terrorists using the border to smuggle WMDs into the country."
We did not find any WMD in Iraq... although we should have... we gave them to them. What happened to the Kurds again? Now we are looking for nuclear bomb making factories in
Iran. Think we will find any of those? If we don't that would mean history is repeating itself.
Struck out on Osama.
Struck out on WMD in Iraq.
Iran?
To put it midly... what a ***king shit storm. I sure hope my ass makes it to 2009.
Sure looks like we need to go back to school... and thats without even looking at many facts.
Everything you say about the "idiots" can be applied to the US governments fabricated "war on terror" (war of terror)...convince the WORLD that terrorism is responsible for EVERYTHING...It is what you claim the conspiracy theorists do IN REVERSE!....
This is the hallmark of the US gov.,no matter which way the evidence goes, they can come up with the conclusion they want.If the evidence is there, the terrorist did it.If the evidence is not there, the terrorist is still evil!
Boy,you really are an idiot & living proof that "The idiocy Is Spreading".
exactly... "it" is evil... idiocy is one of the many "side-effects" of evil... the evil is spredding... the dissension is spreading .... what great things the future holds; what terrible things will preceed it..here shortly BP~
