Huffington Post Has Published Many Truthers

I am amused to hear this claim from Airiheadda herself:

While there are certain computer technologies that can flag inappropriate comments based on key words, Huff Post Editor in Chief Arianna Huffington says that it still requires a human eye to keep the comments in line with her site’s posting policies.

“There are certain obvious things we have, certain specific things,” says Huffington. “Conspiracy theories — we don’t allow conspiracy theories. If you thought Sept. 11 was caused by the Bush administration, your comment is not going to appear unless it is a mistake.”

Oh, snap, comments! I thought she might mean actual posts, like this 2006 recommendation from a Huffington Post blogger (not some schnook commenter):

I recently watched the film LOOSE CHANGE and couldn't believe what I learned. I thought that I had read and heard everything about 9/11, but I was wrong. This film makes quite a case for an alternate view of what happened on September 11th, 2001.

Or Airhead America founder Sheldon Drobny:

I think that Bill Maher is the most talented political pundit of this generation. Since he decided to exclude the right wing nuts from his show, he speaks with much greater credibility. However, his last show was disappointing to me when he essentially marginalized anyone who has doubts about the official 9/11 story. By focusing only upon the controlled demolition theory of the Twin Towers, he excluded a more viable discussion of the collapse of building # 7 that was not hit by anything but the debris from towers 1 and 2. He further criticized those who have other doubts about the official story by intimating that it is ridiculous to believe that our government would attack its own people.

Michael Shaw was a bit more clever:

If Bush's actions confirm his incompetent, pre-formulated, performance-by-rote, what, in addition, might the craft and composition of the photo indicate? In this moment of extreme crisis; 13 minutes before Flight 77 would slam into the Pentagon; with the atmosphere rife with speculation that numerous highjacks (sic) were in progress, can anybody say there wasn't still time for posing?

Only White House photographer Eric Draper could tell us for sure, but with the President centered in the shot, now seemingly down to business (because the kids must be served -- again); the American flag neatly framed under Dan Bartlett's arm; Bartlett, at that very moment, happening to point out the replay of the WTC attack (as if to say, we're on it!); Deborah Loewer, director of the White House Situation Room, doing her situationing perfectly situated behind the boss; and with the two suits to the left standing at attention and ready for action, I'd say this scene is strangely burdened by the sense of what it is supposed to look like.

Italics in original. They had that photo planned for months!

When Bill Clinton denounced the Troofers, the Huffpo posted the YouTube Video. And then a whole lot of mistakes seemed to happen at once, as the comments got through:

I truly believe History will look back at this National Tragedy in awe and disbelief that the unanswered questions and seemingly inexplicable fact that both towers of the World Trade Center were collapsed in as near a perfect example of controlled demolition as possible went unexplored.

2 things.....1) no one wrote anything about planes not hitting the towers yet people just assume that's what's in question....that's intentional disinformation 2) Ever since 9/11, I keep seeing people in comment sections and blogs saying they saw the plane hit the pentagon or their relative or whatever. I swear, you'd think there was a million people surrounding the Pentagon that day. Also total BS and disinformation.

Those who ask questions and demand open discussion and debate about what happened on 9/11 are not the conspiracy theorists. Those who have sold us a story about 19 young men with box cutters being able to get through the best defense system in history have concocted a conspiracy theory of their own. HOW DARE Bill Clinton humiliate and intimidate someone who believes that this administration could be responsible for death and destruction.....Duh!

Those are just 3 of the top 6 comments on that post.

So the idea that the HuffnPuffers police themselves well is absurd. Kos does a much better job even though his site is not perfect.
