Gage's Latest

Kevin McPadden and Indira Singh make appearances. Love the bit where Ed Asner says that the newsmen recognized it as controlled demolition; apparently he doesn't understand the meaning of "it was almost as if".

So Peter Jennings is a fully-qualified civil or structural engineer? NOT.

And only someone as stupid and dishonest as a troofer would consult a chemical engineer to explain the collapse of a skyscraper.

FACT: Chemical engineers are NOT qualified to determine the collapse mechanism for a skyscraper.

And that's precisely why A&E for 9/11 "truth" is such a joke.

But to A&E 9/11 "truths" credit, at last they had the good sense to kick the goat fucker out of the group.

"...This modern skyscraper [building 7] was also built to last." -- Ed [Ass]ner

Yeah, that's why "this modern skyscraper" was built on NY & NJ Port Authority property, where it was EXEMPT from New York City building codes.

And as we all know, it's not what the troofers tell you that counts, it's what they don't tell you that makes the difference. For example,

"...If the World Trade Center towers had been built in a more conventional way and in strict accordance with New York City building codes — from which they were exempt because they were built under the auspices of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey — the buildings probably would not have collapsed, and thousands of lives might have been saved." -- Abolhassan Astaneh-Asl

Nothing to see here, folks, move along...

Peter Jennings is not an expert in anything related to demolishing buildings, so who cares what he has to say?

At 19 August, 2011 16:32, Blogger Pat said...

Yes, it is key to get at the under infrastructure of a building... that is, unless you are demolishing two 110-story skyscrapers, in which case you don't have to start with the under infrastructure.

At 19 August, 2011 16:43, Blogger snug.bug said...

UtterFail, chemical engineers are qualified to understand the laws of thermodynamics and Newtonian mechanics. And that's enough for them to point out the holes and the flaws in NIST's analyses and call for a new investigation.

AE 9/11 Truth has over 50 structural engineers.

Would you maintain that WTC7 was built in an unconventional way and that caused its collapse? If so, shouldn't its insurers have sued the building's engineers for incompetence?

Arcterus, if you would bother to read the OP you would see the point. Pat was implying that Asner was being irrational when he wasn't. What could a reported say? "That was controlled demolition"? No, they're not qualified. So if they see something that looks just like controlled demolition, and many experts have acknowledged that it did, they're going to say "almost as if" or "it resembles".

Pat--getting at the under infrastructure and starting with the under infrastructure are two different things. In fact, I consider one of the major mysteries of the collapses to be--why did the cores, after surviving the initial collapse of the outer floors, then fall straight down themselves?

At 19 August, 2011 16:55, Blogger Pat said...

They did not fall straight down, they toppled over.

After the first couple of minutes, I was going to start with how funny it was – the grand, uplifting music, or comparing the engineering feat of the pyramids and Eiffel Tower to box boy Gage and his ratbag assortment of pseudo-engineers.

But...the more I watched, the more I realised it was actually well done.

Yes, even if is an assortment of disinformation, misquoting and outright lies, to a newbie, this thing would raise serious concerns, as it seems the people doubtful of the official reports are reasonable, responsible people – 1,300 architects and engineers, fire-fighters, 9/11 family members, etc.

The comments from the people of AE911truth, for example, seem quite believable.

Molten steel? Red/grey chips? Nano-thermite?

We all know that’s crap, but the important thing is this: it sounds believable to a newbie.

And, he's the rub; the truthers don't care. They just want a result, even if it be one more person filled with doubt and fear, to them, that's a success.

The good news is that this will receive little publicity, and little public viewing.

On another topic, please, GB, ignore Brian.

Even if he IS a paid troller, you are doing exactly what he wants you to do - fill this blog with bullshit. In fact, looking at how you both dominate the blog with your comments, one could say you are BOTH being paid.

The last post, for example, was a gargantuan 87 comments, many of which were you ‘debating’ Brian about the meaning of ms/2.

GB, who gives a shit if Brian thinks ms/2 means velocity? Or, speed. Or, whatever?

It’s Brian…he’s simply not worth it.

Pat, if the cores had toppled, we would have seen 52" x 22" core columns laid out in a linear array instead of scattered like pickup sticks.

Paul, m/2s can not be anything but a velocity. It is distance per unit time. Acceleration requires change. M/2s is a constant.

Maybe someday you'll learn to make a piece of toast without relying on expert consultation. In the meantime, how about explaining why the claim of the NRDC that all 424,000 tons of WTC concrete was pulverized was absurd? Your inability to answer that simple question shows that you don't know the FIRST THING about the construction of the World Trade Center.

The FIRST THING! Get it?

Pat,

Here's the comment that started this little war.

WAQ's reply to the goat fucker, dated 04 August, 2011 09:04.

Notice that WAQ did a cut-and-paste from Wikipedia's entry for gravitation. Here's a link to Wikipedia's entry for gravitation:

Wikipedia--Gravitation.

Notice that Wikipedia's page, which supports the full HTML font set, always formats exponents as the reader would expect.

SLC's font set, however, does NOT support exponents. So when WAQ did a cut-and-paste of the quote from Wikipedia to SLC, the exponent font formatting was lost. (Try it yourself if you don't believe me).

This is a direct cut-and-paste from Wikipedia's entry for gravitation:

g = 9.81 m/s2 = 32.2 ft/s2

Notice the exponents are lost and appear as integers. (The former exponents are in bold font).

The direct cut-and-paste from Wikipedia reads as follows:

Acceleration (g) is equal to 9.81 meters per second squared, which is also equal to 32.2 feet per second squared.

In the very next comment, the idiot goat fucker turns around and claims: "...The acceleration of gravity is not 9.81 m/s2. Can you tell us why?" Then the goat fucker goes on to claim "...m/s2 is number of meters per 2 seconds. It's a velocity."

Can you see what the goat fucker is doing, Pat?

He's trying to claim that the following equality

g = 9.81 m/s2 = 32.2 ft/s2

reads as follows.

Velocity is equal to 9.81 meters per second times 2, which is equal to 32.2 feet per second times 2.

Which is absolutely ridiculous.

Anyone with a course in elementary high school physics knows that g is the symbol for ACCELERATION. V, on the other hand, is the symbol for VELOCITY.

(Acceleration is ALWAYS expressed in meters per second squared [m/s^2 or m/s2]. Velocity is always expressed in meters per second [m/s]).

Do you see what the goat fucker's doing, Pat?

The goat fucker is DELIBERATELY conflating the terms acceleration (g) and velocity (v) IN ORDER TO START A FLAME WAR.

THIS IS BEYOND IDIOTIC, PAT.

And that son-of-a-bitch has the unmitigated gall to accuse others of "idiocy"?

I DEMAND THAT YOU UNCEREMONIOUSLY BAN THE GOAT FUCKER.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

The clock is ticking, Pat.

UtterFail, velocity was expressed in m/2s by you and by WAQo. You thought you were expressing an acceleration, but your ignorance of the commutative property caused you to make a mistake.

John, are you claiming that Dr. Lynn Margulis is not a real scientist? She's a member of the National Academy of Sciences, and received the National Medal of Science in 1999.

UtterFail, anybody who had 7th grade algebra knows that s2=2s.
s2 is thus a constant, making m/s2 a constant. It can not be an acceleration.

When are you going to tell us why the NRDC's claim is absurd that 424,000 tons of concrete was crushed at Ground Zero?
