Moron the Terror Timeline

Jeez, I almost feel bad about this one, but it's gotta be said. A number of months ago, I was looking into the claims of Barry Jennings, and I noticed that the Terror Timeline got this one right, while all the Troofers get it wrong:

Among them are Barry Jennings, a City Housing Authority worker, and Mike Hess, New York’s chief lawyer who is also a longtime friend of Mayor Rudolph Giuliani. The two had gone up to the 23rd floor headquarters of the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management some time before 10 a.m., but found it empty. (It was evacuated at 9:30 a.m.; see (9:30 a.m.) September 11, 2001.) They headed downstairs but became trapped around the sixth floor by smoke and debris that filled the staircase as a result of the North Tower collapsing at 10:28 a.m.

But... you can probably guess what happened. The Timeline was edited after I posted about it debunking the Troofers. The page I linked to now reads:

Among these individuals are Barry Jennings, a City Housing Authority worker, and Michael Hess, New York’s chief lawyer who is also a longtime friend of Mayor Rudolph Giuliani. The two had gone up to the 23rd floor emergency command center of the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management after the first attack occurred, but found it empty (see (Shortly Before 9:03 a.m.) September 11, 2001)

They then headed downstairs but became trapped around the eighth floor by smoke and debris that filled the staircase. After breaking a window and calling for help, they were spotted by firefighters outside. When the firefighters go in, they also find a security officer for one of the businesses based in the building, who is trapped on the seventh floor by the smoke in the stairway. Why this guard did not evacuate earlier, along with the rest of WTC 7, is unknown. All three men are escorted out of the building.

No mention of where the smoke and debris came from. No correction of Jennings' obviously wrong times.

Learn the lesson. If you debunk something using the Terror Timeline, take a screen cap of the page. What did I learn? That the Terror Timeline is as useless as Wikipedia for anything controversial.

More Proof Of the Troof

Paul Thompson (apparently) has posted a copy of an advertisement for Command & Conquer: Red Alert, which features prominently an explosion at the World Trade Center. Apparently this is considered like the Pilot for the Lone Gunman on TV; a precursor or warning.

Of course, the World Trade Center was well-known to be a terrorist target before Red Alert was released, and the explosion appears to be near the base of the towers, so its relevance to 9-11 is questionable. However, to save the Deniers some time, here are some other pop culture references to 9-11. First up, Two-Face muses about his next crime from Batman #441, 1989:

Wonder Woman crashes into the World Trade Center well before Mohammed Atta (around 1982) in this panel:

Judy Wood's Star Wars Beam Weapon gets a workout in 1940:

And here's the famed trailer for the first Spiderman film:

Update: More pop culture references here.

Update II: Thanks to JREFer Graham2001 who pointed out some other pop culture references. First, here's the plot summary for the 1978 Spiderman movie:

At the New York State University, one of Peter Parker's tutors has accidentally given three students all the materials they need to create an atomic bomb. While Peter Parker tries to find out what's happened, the police suspect him of the crime, and Peter has to deal with an attractive journalist determined to get an interview with Spider-Man. Then dastardly millionaire Mr. White shows up, and will stop at nothing to get his hands on the atomic bomb. Spider-Man must defeat this scheming villain and stop him blowing up the World Trade Centre.

A hip-hop band had planned a November 2001 release to include a picture of them blowing up the World Trade Center.

Here's a card from one of those "Magic The Gathering"-type card games:
