Stone's World Trade Center Getting Bigtime Kudos

Cal Thomas:

I have a long list of favorite patriotic movies, including "Victory at Sea," "Yankee Doodle Dandy" and "Sands of Iwo Jima," but Oliver Stone's "World Trade Center" is right up there with the best of them. It is one of the greatest pro-American, pro-family, pro-faith, pro-male, flag-waving, God Bless America films you will ever see.

What? Oliver Stone, who hangs out with and praises Fidel Castro? Oliver Stone, who indulges in conspiracy theories and is a dues-paying member of the Hollywood left? Yes, THAT Oliver Stone.

Kathryn J. Lopez:

Oliver Stone, who served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, has put together a beautiful tribute to John McLoughlin and Will Jimeno, to every single person who ran toward danger to save others, and to every American who protects and defends Americans today. So move over, Superman. These guys aren’t cartoon superheroes, they’re even better — they’re heroes who are real. McLoughlin and Jimeno, as portrayed and in person, are regular guys, with regular families — good, all-American people who were called to do something selfless and answered that call. It’s important for us to talk about them and the good they do — and to be grateful for everyone who sprints toward danger to save one of the rest of us.

One of the main reasons I do this is for the memories and families of the NYC fire fighters who lost their lives. Having grown up in NY I know first hand how brave they are. I get very angry knowing dead Heros like Orio Palmer are being used for religious and political gain. >:(

In my profession I have worked with many of the same kind of individuals. They are truely heroes, like no other.

That is why it made me angry when I heard that some of the nuts at LC forum were planning to not only protest at the openings, but were also gonna spam the movies forum, if one came about, until it was forced to shut down.

Like hey man, I mean I could show that guy a thing about making a movie.

I mean, I got editing software, and then next thing you know I was a film maker.

I still get confused between fiction and non-fiction, but that's not important - This is going to be a good year for the truth.

You just watch.

The CTers are going to spot "squibs" and hear "bombs" going off during the movie.

Sadly, thats exactly how I got sucked into the vortex. I had the displeasure of witnessing what you described at the United 93 board, the spamming/trolling was in full bloom during the opening weekend. It was so bad that most people just left the board, so it ended up resembling a spam wasteland for weeks.
It really infuriated me and I felt compelled to hang around and start picking fights .....its finally calmed down and there are only a few spammers left, but I suspect most of them have moved on, probably to the World Trade Center board.
