NIST Did Test Explosive Theory

Our fellow debunkers over at Conspiracies R Not Us covers it well:

Rather than vindicating the faith, this archive proves that not only were the NIST and 9/11 Commission reports based on rigorous testing, but that engineers, academics and scientists working for the government explicitly tested conspiratorial claims. We have gigs and gigs of video proof that NIST and its affiliates considered every possible angle of the event, and were able to rule out the kinds of hypotheses that today guide what remains of the faith's holy writ.

Terrific job; read the whole post. Once again the Troofers demonstrate their amazing ability to ignore the evidence that rules against them.

New Debunking Site Noted

Light on comment, but lots of links to the terrific BBC and History Channel documentaries and similar resources. Watch the WTC-7 BBC video again; it still grabs me.

Update: Don't forget Walter's terrific video site as well.

New Debunking Site Launched

Say hello to the Debunking Directory, a new website dedicated to debunking 9-11 kookery. It has a nice, clean look and is well-organized. Poke around there for a bit.

A Real Truth Squad

Will be assembling tomorrow in New York City. The lovely and talented Mary Katherine Ham will be present and taping, and Karol from Alarming News and many others will be spreading the truth, not the "Truth".

This Tuesday, 9/11, at 5pm, we will meet at Liberty Park on the corner of Liberty+Broadway. I will have materials for hand out. Please join us. Let me know, in the comment section or via email, if you will be attending.

Good luck, all!

Game:

Set:

And Match:

CHF takes on the Truthers at Ground Zero and it's three sets to love for our buddy from Toronto. I love the impression the kook gives in the second video of how the building should have come down; apparently it should have done a hula dance.

Brilliantly argued, CHF!

New Comprehensive Debunking Site

Kudos to our buddy Ref from the JREF Forum for setting up the 9-11 Guide. Looks good, nice and clean style to it. He's also hosting the incredible series by Gumboot debunking David Ray Griffin's 115 claimed omissions and distortions by the 9-11 Commission Report.

Some Good Debunking

Going on here (scroll down).

At precisely 15:19 of the video, the North Tower's collapse begins. For reference, free fall time would have been 9.2 seconds from the roof to the ground. So if the building collapsed at free fall speed, it would have been completely collapsed (i.e. the roof would have reached the ground) at 15:28.2 of the video. But look at where the collapse initiation point (the point where the building begins to collapse and then continues downward) is at 15:29 (the ten second mark), by which time the roof above the collapse initiation point should have reached the ground if the building free fell.

Simple questions: Has the building completely collapsed by that point? (answer: no)

The Hawk On The Kooks

My longtime blogger buddy, John Hawkins of Right Wing News, has a Townhall column today about the 9-11 Denial Movement.

So why have these conspiracy theories managed to spread? In large part because most serious commentators usually think it's beneath them to actually take the time to respond to the conspiracy theorists. The problem with that is that the nuts end up dominating the conversation by default because the sane, knowledgeable people tend to opt out of the conversation.

The other big problem is that conspiracy theorists use a style of argumentation that tends to baffle a lot of people. What the "truthers" and other assorted nuts do is ignore the big picture and focus on small things.

John's been doing yeoman work debunking Jerome Corsi's crackpot ideas about the North American Union. He's one of the best writers on the conservative side of the blogosphere.

Welcome To Our World, JD

A blogger named JD Tuccille wrote a post about the 9-11 Deniers and got linked over at 9-11 Flogger. As a result, the crazies came over and infested his comments section with their usual nonsense. Good post:

I'm not going to bother engaging in a point-by-point rebuttal of 9/11 conspiracy theories. I'll just ask: Do you really think that a government that routinely loses laptop computers containing important data when it's not leaking like a sieve by design, and which regularly screws up important missions, is actually capable of carrying out a massive conspiracy to attack and defraud the American people?

Earth to Douglas Herman: Your Tinfoil Is Wrapped Too Tightly

Jeez, I guess we are having an effect, because Douglas Herman of the Rense Clown Show is going berzerk:

Because debunkers are phonies and frauds, cowards and fakes. Debunkers are enablers, not critics, of this criminally incompetent government. By accepting the OCT, the official conspiracy theory, put forth by the same criminal and incompetent government that the debunkers say "failed" to act on 911, these debunkers become as guilty of the crime as their foul government, because they too fail to act.

Now that you mention it, I am as guilty as my "foul" government; which is to say, not guilty at all. And get this bit:

Because debunkers never demanded criminal indictments against the top NORAD generals or Pentagon officials, debunkers are as guilty of 911 as anyone. What! More guilty than Osama for 3,000 murders? Yes, because debunkers wholly accepted the moral evasions and insipid hand-wringing of the criminal Bushco gang, but without demanding of those responsible they pay for criminal negligence that resulted in 3,000+ deaths.

Yes, because these debunkers never demanded the capture of Osama Bin Laden, the so-called mastermind of 911, according to the US government and the legion of nodding heads called debunkers, OBL still enjoys his freedom.

Uh, am I missing something here? This guy is not even LIHOP. Criminal negligence? And for the record, I would love to see Osama captured or killed.

If debunkers, and the government of incompetents, cannot even capture the mastermind of 911, but allow him to escape and have forgotten him since, how much more criminal and inept can you debunkers and your government appear?

Hey, man, I thought I had caught him at the shopping mall this afternoon but he wriggled free. And Osama is not the mastermind of 9-11; that's KSM. Bin Laden provided the muscle hijackers and the money.

Debunkers claim that all buildings would have fallen. They've gotten a group of government-funded scientists to say the same. They claim that Lucky Larry earned an honest windfall profit. They claim his statement, "maybe the smartest thing to do is pull it. And they made that decision to pull and we watched the building collapse," indicate that some buildings collapse on cue.

Okay, so now we're back on Osama didn't do it? What the heck is wrong with Herman--was he drunk when he wrote this?

Debunkers fail to comprehend the seriousness of their crimes. And it is a felony to be an accessory to a high crime, such as 911. By defending the official government version of 911 events, they have allowed all the culprits to escape punishment for their crimes.

Okay time to get the Nutbar-O-Meter out on this guy:

Another Excellent Debunking Blog

Here's a blog by a commenter named Jay who has focused on compiling the transcripts from firefighters, EMTs, police and others. Incredible resource, and the search feature by Google works quite well. For example, if you search for "Nigro", not only do you get results from FDNY Chief Daniel Nigro, but from all the other people who mention Nigro as well. Simply marvelous!

This is an astounding job of research and compilation, and I'm going to put it both on the blog roll and in the reference material section. Kudos to Jay for putting this together for posterity!

New Debunker to the Blogroll

Kudos to 9-11 Truthiness, a new (to me) blog battling against the farces of dorkness. I particularly like this post, for reasons that will be pretty apparent.
