Another Excellent Debunking Blog

Here's a blog by a commenter named Jay who has focused on compiling the transcripts from firefighters, EMTs, police and others. Incredible resource, and the search feature by Google works quite well. For example, if you search for "Nigro", not only do you get results from FDNY Chief Daniel Nigro, but from all the other people who mention Nigro as well. Simply marvelous!

This is an astounding job of research and compilation, and I'm going to put it both on the blog roll and in the reference material section. Kudos to Jay for putting this together for posterity!

Although you wont find many results for Nigro tbh, because i focussed mainly on things like explosions, bombs, and things like that. The things that really stand out in the transcripts. But i was getting tired of all those damn quoteminers tbh so thats why i decided to go over all the transripts, and see what they actually had to tell. And alot of those stories were really chilling i can asure you. I hope it helps some of you debunkers to easily find quotes and point the CT-ers their mistakes.

I just noticed our anonymous friend who runs the Screw Loose Change Myspace page posted a bulletin supposedly copied from a private comment he'd been sent. I figure it might be of interest here, even if there's no incredibly appropriate place to put it...

Your arguments are sound - problem is, people are scared. What's interesting is that different people find different things to be scary. Some people think the idea that our president would want to harm Americans is scary. Other people think nameless and unseen entities from Middle Eastern countries are harder to see - and therefore SCARIER. For many, blaming our illustrious president is far more comforting and "easy" than blaming people we can't see. After all, the president just has to be impeached. But how on earth do we contain all these angry foreign people who live in deserts and caves? Our freaking planes and missiles and tanks can't even keep them down. For many, that vision (of terrorists being solely responsible) is a hell of a lot scarier - and sadly, a lot harder to comprehend. Your video "Screw Loose Change" did open up my eyes. I was actually a believer in the Loose Change movement. Not because I hate George Bush (though I do), but because the Loose Change video MADE SENSE - or at least, it made a hell of a lot more sense to me than the idea of people wanting to kill themselves for... I'm still not even sure what - and stop at NOTHING to hurt innocent people. In other words, profit and greed are motives people can accept and understand and relate to (we see it in movies and novels all the time). Religious zealotry, however (if that's even a word) is so bizarre and foreign to most Americans, it's easier to shake our heads and say "No way, couldn't be - no one's THAT crazy. It must have been greed."

My point is - you have a good argument, and you are probably right. Your "Screw Loose Change" is profound and rocked me to my core. It did. You should be proud. But you must understand WHY people don't want to believe it. It's not because they're stupid or uneducated (Though it may seem that way), but because they're scared. They're more scared of faceless, nameless entities, than they are of the man they see on TV every day. That man has a high-profile and is not going to murder them in their sleep (We hope). But these faceless, nameless people from the Middle East (or wherever else - though we're taught to believe it's a Middle-Eastern thing) are apparently capable of anything - and that scares the shit out of people. Again, for many people, it's easier and more comforting to blame greed than it is to blame religious ideals that most Americans don't even understand.

I think the woman won't read your rant, because you are NOT listening to her. Your argument may be right - in fact, I believe it is. But right or wrong, she's frightened. I think if you at least acknowledged her fear. Said "I know it's hard to accept, and it's frightening to think that this is a problem with no easy solution etc etc etc" I think you would have a much easier time reaching her. Like it or not, the so-called "Truth seekers" are really just looking for an easy solution. Period. IF George Bush is responsible, then they just need to have him impeached and expose all the other bastards who helped him out. If the problem has nothing to do George Bush, well... uh, shit. How do we solve it? Apparently, no one knows. And that's some scary shit.

"Loss of structural integrity was likely a result of weakening caused by fires on the 5th to 7th floors. The specifics of the fires in WTC 7 and how they caused the building to collapse remain unknown at this time. Although the total diesel fuel on the premises contained massive potential energy, the best hypothesis has only a low probability of occurrence. Further research, investigation, and analyses are needed to resolve this issue. [Ch. 5, p. 31.]"

I'd like to hear interpretations of this statement by the NIST on WTC 7.

What's there to interpret? It's pretty straightforward. If you're unsure about a certain part of it, you'll have to be more specific.

Hey debunking911
Love your site, I have yet to see any of the toofers challenge you with facts.
Jay excellent work. I have linked yout transcripts to a number of toofers and all I get is silence :)

What hypothesis does "the best hypothesis" refer to?

At 12 March, 2007 07:37, Blogger Jay said...

Pepik, NIST is actually looking at blast scenarios in their investigation into WTC7. Doesn't that make you happy?

[Ch. 5, p. 31.]

Are you referring to something in the bible? Or could u post a link to the paper you got this from :)

Please answer the question. What hypothesis has a low probability of occurrence?

http://www.fema.gov/pdf/library/fema403_ch5.pdf page 31

I can't find the whole document, but the quote is from this section.

"Are you referring to something in the bible? Or could u post a link to the paper you got this from :)"

Heh heh... to the extent that the NIST reports are the "bible" of the official story, then maybe!

At 12 March, 2007 09:28, Blogger Jay said...

Then why do you refer to a paper from FEMA ;)

At 12 March, 2007 09:38, Blogger Jay said...

Research is all about hypothesis btw. Incase u didn't know this ;)

No one can tell for sure what happened, because u have to know the exact variables(Fire temperature, movement of the fire, strength of all the steel, weaknesses in the building, office stuff(Desks, etc.), etc.). Which is impossible. So no matter if you try to reproduce the events, the outcome will never be 100 percent the same.

At 12 March, 2007 09:48, Blogger Jay said...

Here is the Interim report on WTC7 from NIST btw.

At 12 March, 2007 10:05, Blogger Pepik said...

Whoops no wonder I had such a hard time finding it at NIST.

Anyway, everything you say it true, but you still haven't answered my question. What "best" hypothesis has a low probability?

At 12 March, 2007 10:32, Blogger Jay said...

I think they mean the hypothesis mentioned in 5.6.2 in the FEMA report. They have different scenarios as to what might have happened. And the conclusion comes in 5.6.2, so im guessing thats the "best".

Thats why i never refer to the FEMA report, because this was still a preliminary investigation. Thats why they say that more research is needed in that quote from yours :) Which NIST is undertaking now.

Dunno if this answer helps.

So what do you think happened to WTC7 then?

And could you plz elaborate on that, like findings, calculations and stuff like that.

At 12 March, 2007 10:51, Blogger Pepik said...

I think WTC 7 collapsed due to the WTC tower falling on it and subsequent fire weakening the structure. I haven't done my own calculations though.

I cannot figure out what the hell FEMA is talking about, what a vague and confusing statement to stick in the middle of a conclusion. It almost sounds like they are referring to the possibility the fire was fuelled by oil, but I can't tell.

At 12 March, 2007 13:22, Blogger tnoller said...

I remember him screaming about 7, No. 7, that they wanted everybody away from 7 because 7 was definitely going to collapse, they don't know when, but it's definitely going to come down, just get the hell out of the way, everybody get away from it, make sure you're away from it, that's an order, you know, stuff like that.

According to the troofers it came down when Silverstein said "Pull it". Guess the firefighter who said the above was in on it then.

BTW, excellent work Jay.

At 12 March, 2007 14:01, Blogger Jay said...

Some nutjob over here in Holland actually claimed that Paul Isaac Jr. , a firefighter stated that everyone from the firedepartment, policedepartment and EMTS were in on the conspiracy, but were told they couldnt tell anyone else they might get ttrouble with their pensions. Fucking nutjob didn't even know that those same firemen demonstrated with the 1000's for their saleries. But killing 343 of your colleagues is not enough to protest, but their pension is ofcourse....

At 12 March, 2007 15:52, Blogger Alex said...

Pepik, if you read back a couple pages they talk about the chain of events which would be required for the fuel to cause a building collapse. And they're right, it's not a short chain of events, meaning the likelihood of it occurring on any given day is pretty damn low. However, as I'm sure you understand, "low odds" do not prevent events from occurring. Just think about that poor firefighter who was killed when a jumper fell on him.

I think all that FEMA was saying is that because the odds of this event occuring are so low, and because we lack (or lacked at that stage) any solid physical evidence, we cannot simply say "yes, this is what happened". We can say "this is the most likely scenario", but without further research we cannot prove that that's what happened.

Hope that clears things up.

To along with the collection of transcripts, here's a collection of WTC photos from 9/11. Currently at 5247 photos.

I got the link from a recent Digg submission, so the server is probably a smoldering heap at the moment. If you're having problems with the site, you may have to wait a few hours for it to calm down.

Thank you for doing this, Jay. This is a great resource. I'm a "so-called truther," I guess, but I will treat these materials with the respect they deserve, and you have done us all a favor.

I think there is a misspelling in your blog title - did you mean "fateful day"?

No problem Ningen. And thanx for that correction. I'm from holland so i missed that one :) And it really should be treated with respect. Those men and women that were interviewed lost a lot of colleagues that day and i hate it when i see so much quote mining by the "truthers". Thats also the reason why i kept the gruesome stories out for the most part, unless it was part of something important. I think every thruther should just read all the transcripts, just so they know how it really was and felt that day for all of them.

Good luck with your search for the truth Ningen.

“Interestingly enough, Paul Isaac, Jr. also made a point of contacting the American Free Press newspaper a few weeks ago for the same purpose. He spoke with the editor, Chris Petherick, saying he had a “videotape” that refutes the article by Victor Thorn about our protest at Ground Zero. The article at issue repeats what Paul Isaac, Jr. told both Thorn and I directly to our faces that morning. Isaac wants that article to go away. But guess what: not a chance. The article is staying exactly where it is. Period. Petherick told Isaac to write a statement and send them a copy of the “alleged” videotape.”

Ok, I’m going to let the cat out of the bag. I’m leaving for NYC in a couple hours to interveiw none other than paul isaac jr. he wants to clear the air about a couple things,on the record, and give us some things off the record. But i’d like to speak ahead of time for him and say that this article right here… “I know 911 was an inside job, the police know its an inside job, and the firemen know it too” Yeah total bullshit !!!
He never said anything of the sort. I’ve got three different videos of paul having it out with lisa and nothing close to that is ever said. Somebodys stretching the truth and I don’t think its paul. Couple that with the complete lack of compliance on the part of chris petherick of AFP who refuses paul request to remove wingtvs article and every other website on the inter which is touting that article as gospel and you can say that pauls a little upset. RIGHTFULL SO. I just wanted to vent a little because wingtv hasn”t been on the movements goodside for some time now and this incident further throws their character into question.

“And please, I urge you: don’t let Alex fool you into thinking this was some sort of accidental mistake. Rather, Alex went into a piece written by Randy Lavello (Bombs in the Building: World Trade Center ‘Conspiracy Theory’ is a Conspiracy Fact) and deleted an entire sentence referencing Lisa Guliani’s article, along with the adjoining hyperlink – without notifying the author beforehand, and without the author’s permission (See: Alex Jones = Bis Brother). This is a direct case of OVERT CENSORSHIP, and Randy Lavello was irate about it. Worse, Alex Jones refused to answer any of the repeated inquiries from Lisa Guliani or Randy Lavello as to why he engaged in such a sordid practice. Alex’s actions are very troublesome, and they should be of great concern to each and every person who demands a free press. In fact, when my 9-11 on Trial op-ed piece appeared in the Centre Daily Times (a Knight-Ridder subsidiary), guess what they did. Censor my article – just like Alex Jones did to Randy Lavello’s article!”

"Victor Thorns (wingtv) short story, "The Blow-up Doll", for instance, tells the story of a young boy's first wet dream. In another story that appears in the book, "Latex Dreams," by Stellar, a young woman graphically recounts her first abortion. "Skeletons," a short story by Jeremy Fleming, relates the tale of a young man turned on by the sound of coughing.

"Thorn and (Lisa) Guliani are happy to get these works into print. "It gives it more of a legitimacy," Thorn said.
