Pacifica Nuttery Exposed by the Nation

Apparently the fruitcakes at the nuttiest radio network in America are pushing 9-11 crackpottery. The subject is Amy Goodman, who's supposedly gatekeeping the zanies:

No matter, the Governance Committee at Pacifica passed the resolution, a step taken to discover whether you-know-who has been funneling money to Goodman to cover up "the truth" about 9/11. "We'd like to know what kind of 9/11 coverage the Ford Foundation paid for," said Condon. "The whole issue of 9/11 and Amy Goodman has been ongoing for years and years and years."

I like the conclusion:

Instead of serving as a vibrant home for incisive programming that challenges the assumptions of mainstream debate, the network has fallen into the hands of sectarians and crackpots whose control over the Governance Committee may be strong but whose hold on reality appears tenuous.

One For the Liberals

David Rovics talks about the "left gatekeepers" claims.

You don't have to know Amy Goodman or her producers personally to see what nonsense this "gatekeeper" stuff is. You needn't ever have met Amy to know that she has risked her life, and very nearly lost her life, in her decades-long efforts to report the truth. You needn't know her producers personally to recognize that these are all earnest young progressives working long hours to create a daily news program they deeply believe in. The notion that all of her producers are somehow maintaining a code of silence in exchange for the privilege of having their names mentioned at the end of the broadcast, or in exchange for their nominally middle-class salaries, is preposterous.

That's about right; Goodman certainly has risked her life and was beaten badly by Indonesian soldiers in 1991.

He does go a bit too far in a couple places, but essentially has the right take on the Troofers:

The people who are trying, with some degree of success, to undermine these basic endeavors of the progressive movement and the progressive media need to be exposed for what they are - whether they fall into the category of well-meaning but misguided fanatics or undercover government agents quite purposefully and systematically working to spread disinformation and sow confusion and distrust. And, beyond any reasonable doubt, the "Truth Movement" contains both of these elements.

I don't really think any of the goofballs are government agents, despite the fevered fantasies of Barrie Zwicker. And he repeats a falsehood or two, such as claiming that the CIA "armed and supported Al Qaeda and the Taleban", but basically this is a solid attack on the Troofers from the Left.

Kevin McPadden Expands His Story (and the Conspiracy)

Everytime this guy talks about his "witnessing" the collapse of WTC7 he adds to the story. Now, not only is the FDNY and the Red Cross involved (he specifically accuses them this time) but so is journalist Amy Goodman.

McPadden got the impression that the Red Cross official had been ordered not to give the first responders a warning that the building was coming down.

"And you heard - boom, boom, boom," said McPadden, describing the sound of bombs tearing down the building.

McPadden explained that the reason Democracy Now host Amy Goodman and others were captured on video (watch above) running from the scene and reaching stationary onlookers as the building started to collapse is that they were able to hear the full countdown on the radio further own the street.

Later in the interview, McPadden reveals how he witnessed up close steel beams from the twin towers that had been symmetrically cut at perfect angles as is shown in this image - a clear sign that explosives were used. McPadden said that officials were acting very suspiciously and subsequently prevented people from getting near the beams.

He also highlighted the fact that "vicious security" was quickly set up around certain areas of ground zero and that people were barred from accessing certain areas for no reason and also had their cameras confiscated.

Everytime he talks, he adds details. At this rate by Christmas we will hear about how he saw Larry Silverstein running from the building screaming "Pull it, pull it now!"

On a related note, Kevin "stalker" Barrett confronts that very same Amy Goodman at a public event. Disappointingly Ms. Goodman does not confess to being part of the mind-numbingly large vast conspiracy. Barrett does go up and asks her to sign a book afterwards. Not one of Goodman's books, but "Painful Questions" by prominent anti-Semitic conspiracy kook Eric Hufschmid.




UPDATE: I am not sure why Barrett is being so polite to her, since last year he had already accused her of being part of the cover-up and threatened her with hanging:

Since then she has participated in the treasonous media cover-up of the 9/11 inside job, accepting over $100,000 from the CIA-disinfo-disseminating Ford Foundation to "report on the aftermath of 9/11."

Amy, you will one day find yourself on the scaffold, condemned to hang alongside the other Goebbels-style traitors and mass-murder-coverup-conspirators from the corporate media you pretend to criticize.

They, at least, make no pretense of being anything but shills for the powers that be--which makes your crime infinitely worse than theirs.

Your silence and lies about 9/11 have murdered over half a million Iraqis and destroyed Constitutional governance in the USA.
