Gage, Barrett and Farrakhan: Together At Last

It's the trifecta of nuttery!  Gage is going to appear at the Nation of Islam's annual convention to tell them that Muslims didn't do 9-11:

The plenary session, hosted by Southwestern Regional Representative of the Nation of Islam Robert Muhammad, will separate fact from fiction answering tough questions such as: “Was 9/11 an inside job?” and “Does America have a history of false flag operations?”

Information will be presented by members of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth as they deliver historical narratives, and technical knowledge to those at Saviours’ Day and watching throughout the world via internet.

Richard Gage, founder of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth told The Final Call he is looking forward to presenting the fact regarding 9/11 to those gathered.

“We’re excited to bring this information to a group of people who have already been primed for it by in this case the Minister,” said Mr. Gage. “He’s taken some very courageous stands for 9/11 truth and so we’re honored to come and speak to what I understand may be up to three thousand people at one time, which is about five times larger than any group of people we’ve ever spoken to. So we’re delighted that the information will get out all at once to that many people and live streaming as well to many times that many people.”

Last year, Minister Farrakhan announced to the world that he found something in the technology of auditing developed by Church of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. Many members of the Nation of Islam embarked on the journey to study beneficial aspects of Scientology with hundreds becoming Certified Hubbard Dianetics Auditors.

Sounds like Gage will find a ready audience for his swill, and perhaps some more sustaining members to keep the money flowing into Box Boy's bank account.

Griffin On Barrett's Show

I downloaded this a few days ago (MP3 file), but it seemed almost quaint and trite to discuss in the aftermath of Bin Laden's death. David has apparently recovered enough from last summer's stroke to go back out on tour. This year's version is apparently to be entitled, "Why Does Bill Moyers Accept Miracles?" but you can be sure that Grifter will be performing all his greatest hits, including "Flight 77 Didn't Hit the Pentagon" and "The Phone Calls Were Voice-Morphed".

Here's a brief synopsis of the interview:

Opening-13:00: Griffin and Barrett discuss the origin of David's trutherism. He was "late" to the party, not getting into it until 2003 when a colleague turned him onto a website. What site is not discussed, but I suspect it's Eric Hufschid's.

13:00-18:00: LIHOP versus MIHOP. Griffin comes down firmly in the MIHOP camp, stating that the WTC controlled demolition evidence is very strong and therefore LIHOP is no longer tenable.

19:00-30:00: Griffin urges more time be spent on the Pentagon in the Troof Movement, precisely because it is so controversial. Brief discussion of the April Gallop lawsuit.

30:00-End: Faked phone calls. Yep, no kidding, Grifter spends almost half of the interview expounding on his view that the phone calls were faked. We get voice-morphing. We get Deena Burnett's caller ID showing her husband's cellphone was used to call her. And (most annoying of all) we get Grifter's speculation that they were not confident of Todd Beamer's voice morphing and so that's why he didn't want to talk to his wife. No, you lying con artist, that's not the reason why. Beamer explained to the operator that his wife was having a difficult pregnancy, and he didn't want her to lose the baby. Grifter closes up with the Barbara Olson phone calls.

I'd call him a maggot, but that would be an insult to baby flies.

Still Moron Joshua Blakeney

Here's a YouTube video that Blakeney put together featuring his comments about Israel and 9-11. For some reason the twit felt compelled to add some music to the audio track which actually makes it harder to concentrate on the words (which may be the idea):

As you can see, Blakeney's "scholarship" consists of assembling the usual talking points of "the Zionists did 9-11" wing, with a little less subtlety than Kevin Barrett. Like I said in my previous post, it's a mixture of the Dancing Jews, Larry Silverstein's "pull it", the USS Liberty, etc.

He also speaks up for Holocaust Denier Barrett; those brave anti-Zionists have to stick together!

On the depth of Blakeney's research of 9-11, here's an article that he wrote a month ago on a Canadian website called Rabble:

As many involved in genuine 9/11 studies have noted, there were many reliable reports of the alleged hijackers engaging in un-Islamic activities prior to 9/11. Moreover, when the flight manifests were released indicating the names of the passengers on the four hijacked planes, none of the alleged hijackers' names were listed. Moreover, a number of the alleged hijackers turned up alive. The U.K.'s Telegraph made contact with two of the alleged hijackers and published interviews with them post-9/11.

If Mr. Kay wishes to propagate a theory about 19 conspiratorial adherents to "militant Islam" striking the United States he should demonstrate that such individuals were indeed Islamist militants and that they boarded the planes on 9/11. In his tenth 9/11-related book Cognitive Infiltration Professor David Ray Griffin opines: "Besides not being devout Muslims, the "hijackers" were evidently not even on the airliners [. . .] if the alleged hijackers had purchased tickets and boarded the flights, as the official story has it, their names would have been on the manifests."

That is some genuine 9-11 studies being funded by Canadian taxpayers, eh?

Kevin Barrett Finally Wins Something

I have been on vacation, so I missed this, but Kevin "Hang em high" Barrett made the media again, with Rolling Stone journalist and frequent truther critic Matt Taibbi awarding him the Most Obnoxious Thing on the Internet This Month. Matt might be a little behind though, because he is usually the most obnoxious thing on the Internet any month.

The author is a Truther and former Fullbright scholar from Wisconsin named Kevin Barrett who at one point was a professor at UW but left amid controversy over his lunatic-ass views. (I love the fact that the last course he was scheduled to teach at Wisconsin was on The Canterbury Tales). Barrett starts out by pointing out the huge percentages of the worldwide Muslim population believe 9/11 was an inside job, then adds that the Mosque should be turned into a kind of museum of American treachery:

The best means of repentance and reparation, in my view, would be for the U.S. government to fund and build a new mosque at Ground Zero covering the entire World Trade Center site, with twin minarets looming above in memory of the Twin Towers’ destruction by genocidal Islamophobes. The minarets should be more than 700 feet in height, which would make the new structure the world’s tallest mosque.

Pat Buchanan, 9-11 Truther?

Update: According to this, the articles posted on that website are not approved or screened by Buchanan himself. A former Buchanan staffer named Linda Muller runs the website and is apparently responsible for the kookery.

Well, well, well, Pat Buchanan finally signs onto 9-11 Troofy Troof. He posts uncritically an entire article by Alex Jones' flunky Paul Watson on controlled demolition at the WTC.

Now, given that it's Pat Buchanan, can you possibly guess what might have attracted him to the cause of Truthiness? I'll give you a hint; it starts with "J" and ends with "ews".

By way of background, Alan Hart, a former news reader on the BBC, who's got a bee in his bonnet about those evil Zionists, appeared on Holocaust Denier Kevin Barrett's radio program. Hart presented his rather novel views on Israel's history, including (inevitably) the USS Liberty incident. Barrett segues into the "Jews did 9-11" tangent and Hart reveals that he's a thorough crackpot. Adam Holland transcribed the segment:

Hart: So basically, I've stayed away from it because it give them the focus to take the attention away from your main message. But, since you've mentioned it, I'll tell you what I honestly believe. I think it probably started out as an all Muslim operation, okay? But I think it would be very quickly penetrated by Mossad agents. I detail it in my book. From almost the moment Israel was born, it had its agents penetrating every Arab government, every Arab military organization, and every Arab terrorist group, whatever. So they certainly would have penetrated this. And at some point they said to the bad guys in the CIA, "this is running, what should we do with it?" And the neo-cons said "let's use it".

The twin towers were brought down by a controlled ground explosion, not the planes. Now I'm going to tell you in passing that one of my friends is a consultant for one of the world's leading engineering firms. I'm not going to name him. They've studied the films and they've found that there's no doubt whatsoever that the planes were brought down... sorry, that the towers were brought down by controlled ground explosion. And then we have the film of the -- what is sometimes called the five dancing Israelis. Are you aware of that Kevin?

Yep, he goes into the dancing Jews were Mossad bit, then we get the eight hijackers are still alive crap. But that part above about how consultants for one of the world's leading engineering firms are convinced that the towers were brought down by controlled demolition is his real addition to the 9-11 conspiracy theories. Well, that and this:

Hart: That's right. It's established fact. It suggests that they knew that it was going to happen. It was possible, and this is Alan Hart speaking, that the planes were fitted with transponders, and these guys were calling in the planes to the targets. It's not impossible.

Yeah, and monkeys could fly out of my butt. It's not impossible. At any rate, you can see what attracted Buchanan to the story; he's long supported any conspiracy theories involving Jews, including Justin Raimondo's natterings about the Israeli Art Students.

It will be interesting to see if the Troofers follow up on this information. Surely Hart will not be allowed to remain silent about the identity of his consultant friend. Over at Flogger, this topic comes up.

Come ON, Alan. If you are going to make a claim as potentially earthshaking as this, please let us all know the identity of this civil engineering firm, the people to whom you spoke, the people who conducted the study, and evidence of the text of the study!

I don't agree with the "Truthers" often, but in this case I'll make an exception. Alan Hart needs to come clean about his source.

The Continuing Idiocy of Kevin Barrett

Looks like he's digging in about his Holocaust Denial; he's having a prominent Holocaust Denier on his show this Saturday, and he's published an open letter to Andrea (sic) Merkel on his blog admitting his own "skepticism" that six million Jews died in the concentration camps.

But seriously, Ms. Merkel, you may ask why I side with Hilberg's estimate of 5.1 [million] Holocaust deaths rather than the well-known figure of six million. My answer is that Thomas Dalton, in his book Debating the Holocaust, presents evidence that the figure of six million European Jewish victims threatened with destruction repeatedly occurs long before anyone could possibly have known the real figure. For example, the February 23rd, 1938 New York Times describes six million European Jews as "slowly dying of starvation, all hope gone." Yet at that time the Holocaust, much less its precise body count, was still several years away. A few decades earlier, the May 7, 1920 New York Times cited "Jewish war sufferers in Central and Eastern Europe, where six millions face horrifying conditions of famine, disease and death..."

Barrett goes on to mention the Auschwitz Gambit, which has been debunked for years. Oddly after all this nuttiness, Barrett arrives at a number for the Holocaust:

After reading three books on the issue--Lipstadt's Denying the Holocaust, Shermer's Denying History, and Dalton's Debating the Holocaust--I am now prepared to state that I find pre-eminent Holocaust scholar Raul Hilberg's estimate of 5.1 million Jewish Holocaust victims a more reasonable estimate.

Oddly, because that's not an unreasonable number. Nobody, despite the claims of Holocaust Deniers, says that six million is set in stone. Indeed, in the famed lawsuit between David Irving and Deborah Lipstadt, the definition of the Holocaust was:

Evans argued that the term is generally understood to denote "the attempt by Nazi Germany, led by Hitler, to exterminate the Jewish population in Europe, which attempt succeeded to the extent of murdering between 5 and 6 million Jews in a variety of ways, including mass gassings in camps built for the purpose".

(Bolding added for emphasis).

I'm not sure where Barrett is going with his claims that the NY Times published stories about 6 million Jews dying much earlier than that figure could have been known or even contemplated; I suspect his argument amounts to "they kept claiming 6 million Jews perished after WWI and eventually the world accepted it about WWII." It's certainly a stupid argument, kind of like arguing that since Wonder Woman crashed her plane into the World Trade Center in a mid-1980s comic book, nobody could later have crashed a plane into the Twin Towers.


Incidentally, while we're on the subject of Holocaust Denying, 9-11 kooks, Bishop Williamson was fined 10,000 euros for his Holocaust Denial.

Do They Ever Get the Irony?

Richard Gage is on Kevin Barrett's radio show again (available here) complaining about how mean his critics are to him. From 33 minutes in:

Barrett: How have the people who have tried to uphold the official version of 9/11 responded to this. You have had a fair amount of time now Richard going around giving talks all over the country, and the world, and you have drawn huge audiences everywhere from here to New Zealand. You have drawn the flak of the so called debunkers, people who are rather desparately trying to uphold the official story. At one point we were trying to have some 9/11 debates, between those of us on our side and somebody on the other side, and we never could find anyone on the other side willing to participate in these debates. What is your sense of what kind of opposition we have, do they have any valid points or are they completely blowing smoke? Have they alerted you to any weaknesses in your argument?

Gage: Well what they do is obscure what we are saying with our associations, or manufactured associations and calling us names like conspiracy theorists. What they don't do is look at the evidence that we provide clearly, and provide rational explanations as to where it might be coming from if it is not from explosive controlled demolition.

First of all, the idea that there are no substantive objections to Gage is idiotic. This blog has made dozens of posts pointing out the weakness of his arguments, the number of threads on the JREF forum on Gage and his organization are beyond counting, and there is even a website entirely dedicated to the subject. I have been following this subject as closely as anyone, and I have never seen Gage address any of this criticism.

But perhaps more bizarrely, does Gage realize the irony of going on Kevin Barrett's radio show, which he has been on several times already, and complaining about being smeared through "manufactured associations"? Hello! This is the very same Kevin Barrett who has repeatedly called for the execution of people he disagrees with, who called the Holocaust a "destructive myth", who constantly rants that the Jews control the US press, and has openly promoted the violent overthrow of the US government. Could these idiots make it any easier for us?

There's a claim out there that the real identity of Troofer moron Killtown is going to be exposed tomorrow. Although I don't know his name myself, I know that his identity has been revealed to certain people (including Do-Over Dylan). Retards like Jenny Sparks have accused me of association with Killclown and somehow being involved in the WQ2RX crap, but this is silly. BTW, Boron Epstein griped in the last post that my blogger profile is private; this movement sure has some crack (pipe) investigators if there's anybody out there that doesn't know who I am and where I live.

Speaking of identities revealed, there's an absolutely crazy person posting at JREF for the last two and a half years called Galileo. He claims to be the original Galileo, which should give you an idea of the level of insanity we're talking about here. And he mentions quite casually in a post over there that he's Rolf Lindgren, Kevin "the Holocaust is a hideously destructive myth" Barrett's former campaign manager.

You would think by now I could no longer be surprised by anything this guy says.

A foreign friend of mine, who must remain nameless here, recently contacted me to wish me a happy New Year and to celebrate the martyrdom operation in Afghanistan that claimed the lives of eight CIA agents. "This is wonderful!" he enthused. "Eight CIA agents at once! They must have had excellent intelligence and pulled everything off perfectly."

I said I found it hard to get excited about a bunch of people getting killed, regardless of what they may have done to deserve it.

"That is the problem with you Americans," he said. "Half of you are too stupid to resist your oppressors, and the other half reject violence even when it is justified and necessary."

I told him I was flattered to be considered part of the non-stupid segment of the American public, but that even as a non-stupid non-pacifist I often find it hard to know when violence is justified or necessary.

Finally an Honest Truther

As I have said before, Kevin Barrett is nutty as a Christmas fruitcake, but he is actually one of the more honest members of the increasingly inaccurately named 9/11 truth movement. From his blog:

After responding to his post on how I was calling for truthers to defend KSM as some sort of reverse psychology ploy, Barrett immediately continued insulting me, and then getting all indignant when I wasn't chomping at the bit to go on his radio show. Apparently Kev lost his copy of "How to Win Friends and Influence People". Now I get an entire post dedicated to what an "embarassing representative of the species" I am.

Yet some parasitic nobody who calls himself "James B." pretends to be either too busy, or too ungenerous with his time, to debate me on the radio. My Response to Kevin Barrett

I was rather amused as to how Kevin Barrett quoted me (without identification of course) in his rant about the trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed that Pat cited below.

The traitor doth protest too much! Anybody with the faintest understanding of psychology can see that these lines are intended to PREVENT truth-seekers from supporting KSM's obvious and demonstrable innocence, by ridiculing the idea in a manner designed to play on truther insecurities and foster inaction. Anybody who thinks that this anti-truth propagandist really wants us to join Constitutionalists and anti-torture activists in a free KSM movement, and thus impede the sanctifying of the 9/11 big lie in the history books, is of questionable intentions and/or intelligence.

I posted the following response to his statement, although I do not know whether he will post it, since in typical truther fashion, he does not have open comments.

A salam alikom Kev. Sorry to disappoint you, but that quote you cited of mine, was not part of some reverse psychology secret gambit, it was my actual opinion. Sorry, it is not that complicated and nefarious. I am simply not that clever. As I have argued for years, I find the disingenuous nature of the self-styled ”9/11 truth movement” to be rather bizarre. I obviously don’t believe the US government carried out the 9/11 attacks, but if I did, I would be raising bloody hell over the issue. I and my comrades would be out in the streets. To the contrary, the vast majority of this movement seems to treat this matter with all the seriousness of a minor policy disagreement like the health insurance debate, content with an occasional post on a forum or the ubiquitous YouTube videos. This actually somewhat understates the matter, in that the recent healthcare debate has resulted in hundreds of angry protests involving tens of thousands of people, as opposed to the events of the truth movement, who have trouble breaking into the double digits in attendance with bored advocates rambling incoherently about put options.

Now Mr. Barrett, I would have to except from this comment. He actually seems to behave the way most people should behave if they actually seriously believed this stuff. Now I still think he is a complete
nutcase, but at least he is an honest nutcase who stands by what he believes. Jon Gold seems somewhat saner, although this is a rather low bar to clear, but he rather cowardly refuses to take a stand on virtually anything, taking this whole “just asking questions” game to an extreme in a movement hardly noted for its courage in the first place. I find the accusation that Gold is somehow working for us to be hilarious, especially given the outright scorn I have treated him with for years. But hey, I guess in a world where you believe even hobbyist blogger software engineers from Seattle are covert CIA operatives, anything is possible.

So to summarize, yes, I really do feel that if the “truth movement” really believes in what it says it believes, it should publically defend Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. Anything else would be hypocritical.
You guys have been demanding an investigation and a public forum for years, insisting that the truth should come out in the courts. Now that there will be a public court hearing, filled with scores of top-notch Ivy League educated lawyers on both sides, retreating from backing up your public statements because somebody might call you names would be pathetic. Not that such a response would be much of a surprise from this movement.

Now personally I think both Jon Gold and Kevin Barrett are one taco short of a combination plate, but Barrett has got to be one of the most arrogant and obnoxious people on the planet. In any case Gold posts an exchange that he had with the former part-time professor turned full-time quack radio host. I swear, these guys hate each other more than they hate us.

Barrett: Still Digging

Still unable to admit that the Holocaust happened:

1. Do you believe that the holocaust happened?

Which holocaust? I think it is utterly bizarre that only one of the many holocausts, the killing of a large number of Jews by the Nazis during World War II, has become THE Holocaust, an object of worship and sacred narrative (myth). It is even more bizarre that this sacred narrative's main purpose is to justify the ongoing holocaust in Palestine.

So yes, I do believe that the holocaust in Palestine that your tax dollars are paying for happened, and continues to happen, and will continue to happen until we decide to stop this holocaust that WE are perpetrating, rather than making a fetish out of one perpetrated by our enemies more than sixty years ago. And I believe that the Palestinian holocaust has been made possible by the creation of a sacred narrative about Nazis killing Jews during World War II. While I do believe that Nazis killed a large numbers of Jews during World War II -- I have not studied the issue enough to know how many were killed under what circumstances -- I do not understand why this story has become sacred, nor do I understand why it is used to justify the ongoing holocaust in Palestine. After all, it was Germans, not Palestinians, who killed Jews during World War II.

Remember, when Holocaust Deniers are asked about the Holocaust, the classic dodge is to talk about "other" holocausts; Christopher Bollyn wanted to talk about the fire-bombing of Dresden.

David Ray Hearts Osama

When David Ray Griffin is not hanging out with nutjob anti-Semitic pseudo-intellectuals, he is being interviewed on one of Kevin Barrett's radio shows. But I repeat myself...

In any case he was on Barrett's show on June 27th promoting his new book arguing that Osama bin Laden is dead, and, well, Griffin seems rather taken with his dead Saudi fundamentalist. From 39 minutes in:

Beside the fact, that this picture, and you know you can't go much by a picture, but I read a lot about him, and he was known as a very remarkable young man. As a student at school, when people would say, have a bet or something where they needed people to hold money, it was always bin Laden that they would give it to, because he was the one person that everybody could trust. He was known as a very pious, honest person. And the fact that we have made him into this demon is probably a terrible thing that we have done to his memory.

Gee, the last thing I would want to do is sully the memory of Osama bin Laden.

Kevin Barrett Calls Us a "Gossip Column"

Kevin Barrett interviews journalist Jonathan Kay, who is writing a book on the truther movement, and the subject of this blog comes up. I am not offended, God knows I have called Barrett worse than that, but I found this characterization amusing. From 12 minutes in.

Kay: In terms of resources that a counter-truther would find useful. There are lots of websites. There are 2 websites, one is called 911 Myths, the other is called Screw Loose Change I think.

Barrett: Right, Screw Loose Change is just a gossip column. It has never made any attempts to present any coherent argument. It is just a gossip column.
