Wisconsin Teacher Under Fire
For endorsing the crackpot theories of 9-11:
The instructor, Kevin Barrett, is co-founder of an organization called the Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance, which claims the Bush administration planned the attacks to create a war between Muslims and Christians. He argues that members of the faiths must work together to overcome the belief that terrorists were to blame.
"The 9/11 lie was designed to sow hatred between the faiths," Barrett has written on the organization's Web site.
"Either we discuss the compelling evidence that 9/11 was an inside job, or there is precious little to talk about."
Barrett, who did not return calls Thursday and an e-mail seeking comment, has taught a class on cultural folklore and is scheduled to teach an introductory class on Islam this fall in Madison. He has said he discusses his views on Sept. 11 in the classroom.
You may be surprised at my take on this. I don't see it as a big deal that the teacher's talking about his nutty ideas on 9-11. I can see the school looking into whether he's teaching the assigned subject adequately, but assuming that's the case it doesn't really bother me. He's teaching college students.

Steven Jones full interview is being broadcast on the local University Channel.
Oh, he listed about a dozen structural engineers, engineering journals and fire safety associations who all declared that NIST was bunk.
I'm sure one of the moonbats at LC2 will have it on Youtube soon enough...

We going to hear from them? Or do we have to take his word for it?
We're talking about a guy who posts pictures and then says they're something totally different (concrete with rebar becomes melted metal).
The picture you keep referncing is not rebar and concrete.

It certainly isn't any melted metal.

Let me know when they endorse the CD theory.
And just because they disagree with the NIST, doesn't mean they agree with the CD theory or what Steven Jones has written.
Another example of cherry-picking.

It sure looks like it. Rebar isn't used inside much else.
What makes you say it isn't concrete? Because it sure isn't metal.
Mr. Barrett must be right because Muslims got along so swimmingly with Christians, and Jews, before Bush took office.
*cough*

See what happens when someone dares question the official conspiracy theory? There's plenty of smart people keeping shut because of this sort of thing will happen if you're not a good lemming and follow the crowd.
Here's another Blog's take on the "Thought Police."

Exactly. On several occasions I have heard Jones saying he didn't want to speculate on who is responsible for the CD of the towers. He simply wants more people to seriously look at the issue instead of passing it off as ridiculous.
Ha ha, at least most people are against the thought police:

This line of argument makes you look like children. "You have to be a lemming to believe the official story."
The funniest thing is faith is what drives you people to believe in some government conspiracy. I'm a small government libertarian (there's no other kind), and don't like how the American government has been since FDR, but that doesn't make me believe some government conspiracies on faith alone as you folks do.
but that doesn't make me believe some government conspiracies on faith alone as you folks do.
Faith? Absolutely wrong. There's plenty of evidence the government carried out this attack. These are well established facts that you are misinterpreting as "faith."
On the other hand, the belief that Bin Laden is still alive is indeed "faith" that you guys are eating up on an almost daily basis.
"You have to be a lemming to believe the official story."
Absolutely! Either that or seriously stupid.

No there isn't. You continually saying it doesn't make it so.
Absolutely! Either that or seriously stupid.
nesnyc, when I was in kindergarten I had better analytical skills than you.
And on the other hand being "smart" requires one to believe that
- the Holocaust didn't happen
- the Cold War didn't happen
- WTC was like a tree
- debris can somehow fall faster than "free fall"
- people jumped out of the towers cuz they were scared
- the WTC was built with CD charges in place way back in 1972
- CD warps supports and floors before it snaps them
- CD doesn't make a whole lot of really loud bangs
- CTers know more than every structural engineer in the world
In that case, I'm quite happy being what you'd call "stupid."

Orwell would love these guys.
Apparently even though you can't fire people for race, gender, age, etc. You can at least fire them for being a fucking moron- and that is definitely justified. Conspiracy theories degrade critical thinking skills.
CHF, you forgot to mention the claim that thermite can burn horizontally, or that thermite could be used in CD period. I still don't see why none of the truthers hasn't been kicked in the balls for even thinking of suggesting that.
I dont think anyone should be fired over their idiotic 9/11 views. I'm sure most professors go off on tangents when they're lecturing and many undoubtedly have silly views in some aspect or another.
As long as Mr. Barret keeps his coursework free of any "inside job" lectures and doesnt try to force his idiocy down the throats of his students, it shouldnt be a problem. Same goes for Steven Jones and the other "Scholars" who happen to be college professors....

Whats happened exactly nesnyc? If the government was half as evil as you think it is, Steven Jones probably wouldnt be around to "discover" Thermate....
Why havent more(or even a single member) of the Truth movement leadership had "accidents"??
Explain..
Looks like the academy is smartening up. They finally got around to getting rid of Churchill, and now this bit of good news.
Absolutely! Either that or seriously stupid.
nesnyc is a constant source of irony.
