The Progressive Pans the Deniers
Always a pleasure to see liberals and leftists debunking the 9-11 Deniers:
I’m amazed at how many people give credence to these theories. Everyone’s an engineer. People who never even took one college science course can now hold forth at great length on how the buildings at the World Trade Center could not possibly have collapsed in the way they did and why the Pentagon could not have been struck by that American Airlines jet.
Problem is, some of the best engineers in the country have studied these questions and come up with perfectly logical, scientific explanations for what happened.
He brings up a good point that I haven't heard before:
First, Osama bin Laden has already claimed responsibility for the attack several times and boasted of the prowess of the suicide bombers who hijacked those planes. Why not take him at his word? And if bin Laden were working in cahoots with the Bush Administration, why was the President warned on August 6, 2001, in a Presidential daily briefing that Osama bin Laden was about to attack the United States? Wouldn’t that risk exposing the conspiracy?

He wasn't "some dude in a cave" at the time, genius. That was after the invasion of Afghanistan. Neither were the hijackers; most of them were getting or partially completed college educations at the time and were living in and used to the technology in the West.
Plus, why don't people believe some folks can buy airplane tickets, sneak box cutters on board, then threaten violence? I didn't think it took too much sophistication to do that.
And why do you think the Mossad blew up the towers? You have proof? Video? Or just more secondhand hearsay?
And what's this about the "government" and the "media" telling anyone anything? Who needs them to do it? The NIST report is viewable online. So's scads of other info; you just have to wade through the BS you conspiracy fantasists insist on spreading.
The questions you all ask are answered in the NIST reports, and in the PopMech book. And no, they haven't been debunked; they've been disagreed with, rather weakly to boot. Instead of criticising the NIST findings, maybe some of you all should actually read it instead of depending on secondary sources and faux experts.

I have no idea what the hell Bukharis are and it really doesn't matter. There is overwhelming historical data from a multitude of sources linking the al Qaeda hijackers to training camps in Afghanistan. One poorly sourced news story means zilch.
If you think Al Qaeda wasn't involved, make sure you let Juan Cole know, OK? He's gonna be pissed that he wasted time translated all their documents into English.
The Mossad, a group that tracked down and killed the organizers and financiers of the Munich Massacre (well at least the ones that didn't go running behind the Iron Curtain), orchestrated 9/11 then danced in plain view while filming the burning towers.

If you believe Webster Tarpley, Bush was a hostage to the plot. While he was in the air in AF1, he was supposedly phoned and told that AF1 would be next and a nuclear war would be started with Russia if Bush didn't play along.
The only time I've ever seen OBL claiming responsibility was in the fake Osama tape where it clearly isn't Osama. Also, if OBL confessed to being involved in 9/11, why doesn't the FBI use this as evidence enough to list it on his Most Wanted poster? I've seen videos of OBL denying involvement, not confessing.
