said it was a small multi-engine plane ... call me crazy ... but it doesnt look much like a plane hit it ... i mean none of the structure next to the windows was damaged too much it as all by the impact.

When I first glanced at the news out of the corner of my eye, I thought they were replaying some 9/11 footage. When I realized what was happening, my first thought was "How unoriginal. These guys need new material".

Update: Reports are now that it was Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle piloting the plane. Here's an article with some irony in it, showing Lidle and his plane. It appears that his passport was found in the street, which of course is causing lots of suspicion in that same thread.
I was believing it was an accident, until the passport thing.
Seriously, are those things made of indestructible titanium alloys, or paper?

Two people who were in the apartment into which the aircraft crashed were not injured.

I just knew this'd be jumped on by conspiracy theorists as soon as a reporter mentioned how a lot of the folks nearby were scared of another terrorist attack. Nevermind that the mayor immediately tried to calm suspicions of a terrorist attack, the scaremongering is obviously on every level of government.
Hope they find out what went wrong soon and find a way to prevent it happening again. It's only by fluke that more people weren't harmed.

I'm sorry for your loss poohbear. Nobody here is attempting to make light of what happened to Cory. I can't speak for the rest of the people here, but the inappropriate comments which I personally have made were made because I knew the 9/11 deniers would shortly be saying things which were even worse. I was mocking THEM, and not the victims of this horrible accident. I know that's no excuse, but I thought I should explain my reasoning anyway. I apologize for any harm my comments may have caused.
