I am Feeling Bipolar Today
A poster over the the Loose Change Forums started a thread titled "Screw Loose Change = Retarded, good job, amerocentric leftists twits" in response to his previous Holocaust thread being named "Stupid Loose Change Forum Post of the Day". That is fine, we have the right to make fun of him, he has the right to make fun of us, that is free speech.
I did find it rather odd, however, that he managed to call us "leftists twits","American psuedo-liberal dumbf%&ks" but then closes with, "That's mostly because SLC are pathetic reactionaries".
I am guessing he doesn't know what reactionary means:
re·ac·tion·ar·y
–adjective
1. of, pertaining to, marked by, or favoring reaction, esp. extreme conservatism or rightism in politics; opposing political or social change.
–noun
2. a reactionary person.

I think this guy hears both "left" and "reactionary" being bandied about as negative keywords and just decided to throw them in together.
It's great that knowledge is power, as these pathetic weaklings can do nothing in their ignorance.
People like Alex Jones argue that the left and the right are the same thing. No, I can't explain how that makes sense.
pepik,
First, let me say I'm not defending Alex Jones in general. Nor am I defending any particular statements about the left and right being the same time.
However, you comment deserves a response, and I'll start with:
THE OPERATIONAL AESTHETIC (A Dissertation on Pro Wrestling
I'll continue in the next comment.
pepik,
Consider the following, Green or Bust , written in 1997.
The point that I think Alex Jones would make, and I am making, is that no matter what your politics are, the Republicans and the Democrats are both driving us down the same basic highway to an ugly destination.
BG You hit the nail on the head. Just one minute case in point is the lead up and the war itself in Iraq. Different name, same foreign policy. Yeah we might see some minor issues at home addressed:
1. Increase in minium wage.
2. Still no impeachment of the President despite all of the evidence.
3. It would be great to see health care for all, but it is just a talking point for the Demo's that sounds great.
4. Doesn't matter who wins in 0'8, we will still be in Iraq.
5. No reinvestigation of anything related to 9/11.
Other than the bi-polar remark, if you read the post, it simply shows how the CT totally destroyed the OS guy's comments about his information on the behavior of the US and Russia during and after WW2.
Thanks guy, interesting read. Did you get any knowledge from reading the entire post Shawn?
And these people wonder why they're accused of being anti-American.
The best part of this is that every single quote is basically the same source, either directly from Dr. Austin J. App's book or Kevin Strom parroting the same book.
Ignoring the fact that there's a serious credibility gap when anyone basically uses the same source 10 times to create the illusion of multiple documented reports of the same thing, doesn't it raise the question of just who Austin App and Kevin Strom were/are?
Well Tymmy felt like googling today as nobody in the Loose Change forums seemed curious or dubious (A shock)
Austin App founded the "Institute for Historical Review", which is one of the premier Holocaust denial thinktank groups over the last 25 years or so.
What kindof Holocaust Denial? Well here are his 8 axioms outlined in 1973:
"1) Emigration, not extermination, was the German Nazi plan for dealing with Germany’s "Jewish problem".
2) No Jews were gassed in any German concentration camps and probably not at Auschwitz either.
3) Jews who disappeared during the years of World War II and have not been accounted for did so in territories under Soviet, rather than German, control.
4) The majority of Jews who were killed by the Nazis were people whom the Nazis had every right to "execute" as subversives, spies, and criminals.
5) If the Holocaust claims have any truth, Israel would have opened its archives to historians.
6) All evidence to support the "hoax" of six million dead rests upon misquotes of Nazis and Nazi documents.
7) It is incumbent upon the accusers to prove the six million figure.
8) Jewish historians and other scholars have great discrepancies in their calculations of the number of victims. (App 1973, 1977)."
So there you guy, that's the head researcher who compiled such damning evidence.
If there ever was a time in human history where the expression "Consider the source" were appropriate, this HAS to be it and the validity of some of those claims has to be called into question.
Clearly, the work was guided by a fundamental Nazi sympathy and a desperate effort to demonize the Allies involvement in World War II. After all, the Nazis don't look so bad if you make the Americans and others look bad too, right?
And the best part is, nobody checks this shit out. Even Dylan who has to know by now that anything he says can and will be used against him, had no problem declaring that the wannabe Hitler youth kid "won" the argument.
Kevin Alfred Strom, is not exactly a credible alternative either....
Not that one even needs to look it up consider who he's citing.
Now, nobody is saying that there weren't any war crimes ever committed or that the US forces or forces technically under US command were above any attrocities whatsoever.
It's idiotic to assume that of the millions of "good guy" troops that everyone was a model citizen, particularly since there hasn't been a war in human history where this kind of shit didn't happen on some level.
But when you're vastly overstating and not substantiating claims that Americans (not Russians, not British, not French, etc) "managed to rape more women than the whole Axis did in 4 years of war", then you gotta come back with something better than the Neo-Nazi research which has an obvious agenda and slant to it.
Someone oughtta tell Dylan that the company he keeps and who he decides to agree with kindof reflects on him.
From his response to that thread, one can only reach a few conclusions
1) He doesn't know who Alfred App and Kevin Strom are and didn't think to look into it at all before chiming in. While this is probably the likeliest scenario and sort of understandable (after all, profiting off the stupid is time consuming and who has time for a the 45 second process of thinking "Hey, all these quotes seem to come from one main book", checking out said book, and noticing that the author was the epitome of a Holocaust denier and that maybe the source is suspect...
I'd gladly go there and relay what I've said here but I'm not allowed to post in the Lounge as a new member
Anyone who can, please feel free to ask Dylan and everyone else whether they are lazy, stupid, or just plain nazis and that's why they have no problem agreeing with prominent holocauster deniers
