Showtime Mocks Deniers

Note the bit with the couple starting at about 1:30 in, where they're talking (facetiously) about the homing beam in WTC 7. Unfortunately the clip cuts off at the end where the girl is talking about Arabs in a cave. Anybody watch this show (Sleeper Cell)?

I'm afraid that even I might start babbling about Global Hawks hitting the Pentagon in that situation.

What a coincidence, the wife and I had the same exact coversation last night...

I saw it and could not help but think that it has now become shorthand for the less than bright.

I saw it too, after the first episode I wasn't sure they were mocking it. After last night's episode, however, no doubt.

That girl's pretty hot, though.

I no longer have Showtime but I did when this series ran a ten episode plot this time last year. It featured a FBI plant in a terrorist group. The guy being beaten by the interrogators was the head of that group, at the end of the series he is being sent to Gitmo.

It was pretty entertaining and I thought was pretty even-handed. I don't recognize the two Deniers. The chick is hot and dumber than a post.

Is that your spin on it?
According to the transcrpit it reads pretty seriously. I will admit however to not being able to see the clip or the show, just the transcript and setting.

I finally got to watch the clip. I didn't see any 'mocking' so to speak. I also did not detect any facetious behavior in the dialogue as well.

If that is your spin, so be it. But lets not cross the boundry of lying to your readers.

Dude,

The guy she's having sex with is (unbeknownst to her) a terrorist.

So she's describing the looney CT to a real terrorist.

Thats called mocking.

Gee, how could we ever have doubted your powers of observation...

Just like how Dylan Avery didn't think South Park was mocking twoofers when it called them "retards."

If that wasn't proof these people are delusional, I don't know what is.

1. Ok, she doesn't know he is a terrorist, correct?

2. Is she a terrorist?

The intellect you all display simply depresses me. The scene takes the form of irony.

Irony-a technique of indicating, as through character or plot development, an intention or attitude opposite to that which is actually or ostensibly stated.

You have an amazing knack for hitting bottom, and continuing to dig. Even when we try to take away your shovel, you just keep right on going, using your teeth and fingernails. Why are you so fanatical about making yourself look like an idiot?
