Another Doltish Troofer at the Huffington Post

They just seem to slip through Arianna's cracks:

But what about the "big lie" that the White House, Pentagon and the Congress sold to the American people regarding Sept. 11, according to Iran's president (and millions of Americans who also question the government)?

Did a commercial passenger plane really ram into the Pentagon, leaving its facade intact, and then completely disintegrate into pocket-sized shards?

Did a plane really go down in a field in Pennsylvania and leave reporters and coroners on the scene mystified over the lack of bodies and plane parts?

While we're "just asking questions", did a 9-11 Truther post get through Arianna's diligent moderators?

Diligent moderators? That's a joke right? To be fair most of the commentators, while being lefties, dismiss conspiracy theories about 9-11. There's even a fair amount of push-back over homeopathy, anti-vax nonsense and other anti-rationalist bile that site spews on a regular basis. Seriously, some of the commenters tear this "Mike Green" a new one. But this is still a new low for Huffington Post.
And Ahmadinejad is so out of date with his truthieness! They're so over "did a plane leave the airport bla bla bla." I thought nanothermite was vouge with truthers now a days. Maybe he can host a 9-11 truth conference because he hasn't embarrassed his once-proud country enough as it is.

As far as I know, the push-back doesn't remotely compare to the god-awful woo spooge over there. At best, they're teaching the controversy.

Things are getting better:

Mark Green: I did not mention the 3 buildings that miraculously all fell into their own footprint at freefall speed in New York. The propaganda surrounding 9/11 focuses solely on New York.

Questions about 9/11 persist due to the lies that were told by government. Any response that ignores the questions I raise in this piece merely supports my premise. Is everyone aware that 9/11 events occurred in THREE geographic locations?

I can't work out if he's being tongue-in-cheek with the bit about buildings miraculously falling into their footprints at free-fall speed.

I doubt it, though.

let me show you how SLC works, i will demonstrate the evolution of a lie, and the intellectual elite debunking club known as SLC will fail to attempt any actual debate.

on jan 07 the president says we "failed to connect the dots."
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2010/01/obamaterrorismsecuritypressconference.html

then on jan 22 abc news reported "Federal agents also tell ABCNews.com they are attempting to identify a man who passengers said helped Abdulmutallab change planes for Detroit when he landed in Amsterdam from Lagos, Nigeria.

Authorities had initially discounted the passenger accounts, but the agents say there is a growing belief the man have played a role to make sure Abdulmutallab "did not get cold feet."

http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/female-suicide-bombers-heading-yemen/story?id=9636341&page=2

finally on jan 27th detroit news reports "The State Department didn't revoke the visa of foiled terrorism suspect Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab because federal counterterrorism officials had begged off revocation, a top State Department official revealed"

From The Detroit News: http://detnews.com/article/20100127/NATION/1270405/Terror-suspect-kept-visa-to-avoid-tipping-off-larger-investigation#ixzz0hSPEkZRG

again i say, if we can't get the truth about a guy who tried to blow up a plane, how can we be sure they won't change the story on the pentagon shooting in a month?

A great editorial in today's Washington Post about America-hating crackpot Yukihisa Fujita.

Mr. Fujita's ideas about the attack on the World Trade Center, which he shared with us in a recent interview, are too bizarre, half-baked and intellectually bogus to merit serious discussion. He questions whether it was really the work of terrorists; suggests that shadowy forces with advance knowledge of the plot played the stock market to profit from it; peddles the fantastic idea that eight of the 19 hijackers are alive and well; and hints that controlled demolition rather than fire or debris may be a more likely explanation for at least the collapse of the building at 7 World Trade Center, which was adjacent to the twin towers.

Although the unfortunate point of the editorial is that this scumbag has a pretty important position in Japanese foreign policy.

Yukihisa Fujita apparently gets a lot of his information from UFO dweller and CIA-shot-John-Lennon hippy Yumi Kikuchi. She was the woman on the Joe Princiota video.

http://yumikikuchi.blogspot.com/

Washington Post: We have no reason to believe that Mr. Fujita's views are widely shared in Japan; we suspect that they are not and that many Japanese would be embarrassed by them. His proposal two years ago that Tokyo undertake an independent investigation into the Sept. 11 attacks, in which 24 Japanese citizens died, went nowhere.

I haven't heard very many Japanese people interested in these theories and the Western Truthers that I do know are frustrated by how little time or interest most Japanese people have in their CTs.

What is an issue is Japan's role in the wars in Afghanistan (as logistical support) and the US military bases in Okinawa.

Fujita seems to be, in a typically Truther way, trying to use a CT as propaganda against policies he doesn't like.

Actually, when I went to that link I am surprised not to have seen the name of Ryu Ohta.

When I went into my local bookstore to check the section that deals with conspiracy theories I discovered that just about every Western conspiracy theorist on the shelves had been translated into Japanese by Ryu Ohta. This included some of the books by Benjamin Fulford (who might actually write some of them in Japanese himself), a writer called Jon Coleman - who is apparently ex-MI6, and a book called "Synagogues of Satan" by Andrew Hitchcock. There was also a book about the Illuminati tranlsated by some uber-Christian-nut and a few others. All of them tranlsated by the same guy.

At 08 March, 2010 09:30, Blogger angrysoba said...

Why?

There are a lot of residents in Okinawa that don't like the US bases stationed there. Either because they feel occupied or because of cases where US military personnel get drunk in town, or - famously - rape a junior high school girl. There was also an incident with a helicopter that crashed into a university and the US military cordoned off the area not allowing the Japanese police in to the scene which came across as a humiliating denial of sovereignty for some.

On the other hand there are those who want them to be there, either because of North Korea's volatile behaviour or the possible looming threat of China.

Pretty bog-standard politics.

As for the war on terror, there is a constitutional issue here. Japan's constitution essentially forbids them from having a military. It doesn't mean Japan doesn't have one. It has one of the most advanced and expensive military's in the world, but technically it is supposed to be very much restricted about what it can do. The military is called the self-defence forces and Koizumi came under fire at home for choosing to deploy them for what some people thought of as an aggressive action. Japan actually sent a small contingent of troops to Samawa near Basra but not combat troops as such. Some of Japan's neighbours were also less than happy about seeing any hint of muscle-flexing as they have bad memories of it.

Anyway, the DJP and the Communist Party have traditionally tended towards stricter adherence to Article 9 which is the stipulation in the constitution about the military. So these things tend to be issues from time to time.
