AE911Truth Upset at CNN for Covering Them Accurately

Richard Gage's gaggle proudly announces their effort to crash the opening of the 9/11 Museum in New York City by handing out mock museum pamphlets, and then gets upset because CNN reports on it.  Some people are impossible to please.

In an example of Orwellian newspeak, the CNN show The Lead with Jake Tapper took on Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth over its decision to distribute information pamphlets outside the National September 11 Memorial and Museum at Ground Zero in New York City. The pamphlets mimic the design of the "official" ones, but instead of the official story, they contain key scientific forensic evidence indicating that the three World Trade Center towers were brought down with explosives and incendiaries. Unlike the official version, the photo on the cover of the AE pamphlet shows the Twin Towers and Building 7.

Troofer Dolts Produce Fake Brochure for Memorial Opening

No particular surprise, although I am happy to see that Raw Story has become less Truther-friendly in recent years.

A group calling itself Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth will be on hand this week when the National September 11 Memorial Museum officially opens to the public in New York City, handing out brochures detailing their version of the events of September 11, 2001.

The brochures — designed to look like the official museum brochure — cast doubt on how the World Trade Towers collapsed that day, pushing the theory that the destruction was part of a greater conspiracy involving the U.S. government and possibly Israel.
The full crackpot brochure can be seen here.  It's the usual crap about Building 7, which appears to be the last refuge of the kooks.

While we're on the subject of the 9-11 Memorial, here are a couple of photos from the opening that will probably give Brian Good some intestinal problems:

Hat Tip to WR. Not too shabby, getting pictured with a former president and the person most likely to be a future president (not that I would vote for her, mind you).

Dylan Update

Interesting article on what Dylan's doing these days:

Avery is in town to conduct interviews for his new documentary about police brutality called Black and Blue. Though he still has his signature soul patch, he is no longer the spitting image of angry youth in revolt. His hair is freshly buzzed, he wears a beaded Rasta bracelet on his wrist and his feet are clad in sandals, despite the weather. The Fight Club-loving skinny boy who once declared that there was going to be a “second American revolution,” now calls to mind a gentle Buddha.

“I never planned on talking about 9/11 for the rest of my life,” he says. “Everyone wants me to keep playing this role, but when I made Loose Change, I was young and pissed off.” He pauses for a moment. “I wanted to make a film and see if I was good at it, but it took over my life.”

We do get a brief mention:

Avery was tired and beginning to grow wary of both the Truth Movement and his place in it. “There were anti-Semites saying the Israeli intelligence agency pulled off 9/11,” he says. “They wanted me to put that stuff in my films.” In a bizarre twist, some in the movement accused him of working for the government, conducting a disinformation campaign to discredit Truthers. Others, who disagreed with his ideas, berated him on a popular blog called Screw Loose Change, where commenters regularly said things like, “Jeez, ****ing Hitler must be proud of Dylan.” And in different forums, strangers fantasized about his demise. “There were YouTube videos dedicated to killing me,” he recalls. “One said, ‘Dylan Avery dies in a plane crash,’ and it was just stock footage of a plane crashing. You see enough of that, and it really starts to wear on you.”
Once again, I bear Dylan no ill will, and disavow anyone who would do the sorts of things discussed there.  Dylan put a product out into the marketplace of ideas.  I tried to be careful to critique the product, not the person behind it. What's the old Voltaire quote?  I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Amusingly, Adam Syed pops up in the comments to complain bitterly about how unfair it is that those who think the Mossad did it are somehow anti-Semites.

Updates

Greg Brannon, the Troofer-leaning candidate for the US Senate from North Carolina, drew 27% of the vote in the Republican primary.  Crucially, he was unable to prevent Thom Tillis from getting over 40% of the vote, and thus Tillis avoided a possible run-off with Brannnon.

The kooks are patting themselves on the back that their ridiculous high rise safety initiative has garnered 6,342 signatures in two weeks, or less than 500 signatures a day.  While that's an improvement over the first few days, when they were averaging 250 signatures, it's not even close to the 1000+ they needed to average in order to reach their goal of 70,000 signers.

Raising Money--Pretty Good. Gathering Signatures? Not So Much.

Gotta love the clowns at the High Rise Safety Initiative (aka investigoogle Building 7).  They actually succeeded in getting the Truther Kooks to donate $135,000 to hire petition gatherers to get their cranky crap on the ballot.  How's it going?

Our petition drive kicked off on May 1st thanks to the generosity of more than 1,000 supporters who together contributed over $135,000. Through Sunday we've gathered over 1,000 signatures.
Wow, in four days, they managed to get 1,000 signatures!  That's 250 per day! An impressive achievement, until you look at what they have to do:

$135,000 will fund our petition teams through the first week of June, but to complete the first round of petitioning and submit 70,000+ signatures on July 3rd we must reach $185,000 by June 1st.
To submit 70,0000 signatures on July 3, starting on May 1, they have to average over 1,000 signatures a day.  Oh, and by the way, that's valid signatures, with valid home addresses, from registered voters, etc.  D. Duck and M. Mouse are probably going to get thrown out.  The Troofers ran into that problem in 2009, but the city decided to say, okay, even if your signatures were valid, the referendum was illegal anyway.

But even if they get the signatures and get the measure on the ballot and get the investigation of Building 7 they claim to want, you know what is going to happen, right?  Just another report that will validate NIST's conclusions.  Remember, the working definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
