Update: Moderately better, although I do think they could easily drop the bitrate down to 64 bps given the talk format and the mediocre sound from the phones.

LOL! At about 12 minutes in Bermas mentions going back to his old high school and being appalled at seeing a urinal target with Bin Laden's face on it. And that's what sparked his interest in 9-11 Troof!

I will be on the radio again with my old buddy Rob Breakenridge tonight at 7:00 PM Pacific Time, 10:00 Eastern, to discuss Jesse Ventura's conversion to Trooferism and the ongoing disintegration of the movement. I've been on something like 20 talk shows so far, and Rob is by far the most knowledgeable host that I've discussed the "Truthers" with.

In fact, Rob recently wrote a blog post that I highly recommend about Ventura's appearance on Hannity & Colmes. It attracted the attention of Alex Jones' junior flunky, Paul Watson, so there are around 100 comments from the fruitcakes on that post. Bring your shotgun; plenty of fish in the barrel there.

Update: As always when I'm on a radio show, the time seemed to fly by. Rob, as always, was well-prepared and we had a stimulating discussion with the callers, including our old buddy, Troy from WV.

One correction: As the first caller noted, I did blow a detail about Alex Jones. I stated that he believes that the New World Order wants to kill 80% of us so that there will be enough oil to go around. That's Peak Oil, which is believed in by Michael Ruppert. Alex Jones believes the New World Order wants to kill 80% of us because... well, I'm having a tough time figuring that out. It has something to do with enslaving the rest of us, so apparently the 80% who will die are the lucky ones.

As much I think of pat as an idiot, I don't think he was lying. Its most likely he was refering to celcius, like most canadiens do, which is equilivent to almost 2400 degree fahrenheit which was the offical temperature of molton pool detected by nasa.

Food Is Not Love Interview Up

Update: I enjoyed the show thoroughly. Frank and Shane are solid hosts and asked some questions that I really enjoyed answering, particularly the one where they wanted me to mention some of the great debunkers out there. It's the first time I've been asked that, and it's actually a topic I've been meaning to post about, and will sometime later tonight or tomorrow.

World Have Your Say Wrapup

It was certainly an entertaining half-hour as predicted. Kudos to the host who kept things on track despite the best derailment efforts by one of the participants (more about him later).

I was pleased to hear my good buddy Rick Moran on the show, and a Dutch blogger also joined in; I believe but am not certain it was one of our friends from Complot Denkers. Jason was well-prepared as always, courteous and responsive while representing his side well.

Unfortunately, Dave Von Kleist was a thorough pill. Have you ever noticed on these discussion shows that the guy who spends the most time interrupting is also the one who screams "Let me finish!" when you try to get a word in edgewise? Whether it was yelling at Jason not to answer that question or moaning that everybody calls them crackpots, Von Kleist was thoroughly annoying. I've half a mind to rip apart his crockumentary, 9-11 Ripple Effect, and half a mind that it would be more damaging not to tackle the subject. One of the oddball effects of debunking is that when we tackle something it automatically gives it a little more credibility among the conspiracy theorist crowd, and no, I'm not kidding.

You can listen in to the program here for the next day or so. There is a brief intro to the 9-11 argument and then a segment on the Greek fires, and the second half-hour is solid 9-11 debate.

I tried to interject into the argument about how many people who were involved in the 9-11 plot that Von Kleist himself earlier in the show accused the mainstream media of covering up the facts about 9-11.

Enjoyed everything else about doing the show, especially the help from Bill Shedd of KJZZ. Bill's a real pro and made me feel quite a home in the studio.

I will be appearing on the Have Your Say program next Monday, tentatively for a debate with Jason Bermas of the Loose Change crew. Have Your Say is a BBC World Service program. It will be an entertaining half hour and I'll post details about how and where to listen in as they become available.

Radio Podcast With Lifelike Pundits

My longtime blogger buddy Aaron Arnwine invited me on his Blogtalk Radio show this morning where we talked a bit about the 9-11 cranks, as well as discussing the "Linda Chavez Republicans". It's a half-hour show and we spend the first 15 minutes talking about the "Truthers".

It went down, I think seven flights. The person survived because he was pulled from the B3 level. But this person, being in front of the doors waiting for the elevator, practically got his skin vaporized."

To CNN on the one-year anniversary:

“And at that terrible day when I took people out of the office, one of them totally burned because he was standing in front of the freight elevator and the ball of fire came down the duct of the elevator itself, I put him on the ambulance.”

At about 40:23 Jason says that the satellite images show temperatures in excess of 2000 degrees. Cooperative Research, which is a conspiracy theory website has those images, but here's what they say:

Analysis of the data it collects indicates temperatures at Ground Zero of above 800 degrees Fahrenheit, with some areas above 1,300 degrees. On September 16, dozens of “hot spots” are seen, but by September 23, only four or five remain.

Further backup for my point that if there were pools of molten metal, those pools were certainly not molten steel, which would require a temperature in excesss of 2800 degrees.

At 52:16 or so, Rob plays a Tony Snow clip about the "Office of Homeland Defense" making it clear that he finds it very suspicious that there was such an office prior to 9-11. Of course, the Office of Homeland Defense is not the same thing as the Office of Homeland Security, and in fact had been proposed and created by the Clinton Administration under William Cohen:

What happens if a terrorist sarin gas attack occurs in New York or Washington or Los Angeles -- or all three at once? Who is to respond?

Defense Secretary William S. Cohen asked these questions Oct. 2 [2000] in a speech to the Center for Strategic and International Studies here. The answer, he said, is the Department of Defense.

Cohen said when he first proposed formation of a "commander-in-chief for homeland defense" the idea was controversial. "Immediately there were questions being raised as to whether or not this would intrude upon the constitutional prohibitions of getting our military involved in domestic affairs," he said.

And the concept of a cabinet level agency had been proposed several months before by a government panel headed by Gary Hart and Warren Rudman:

One striking recommendation: Convert the Federal Emergency Management Agency into a "National Homeland Security Agency." The new agency would be chartered in law to provide a focal point for government response in "all natural and man-made crisis and emergency planning scenarios."

The NHSA director would enjoy Cabinet rank, undergo Senate confirmation, and serve as an advisor to the National Security Council--as is the case today with the director of central intelligence. The panel believes the proposed structure would ensure that one person is accountable to the President for homeland defense policy-making and implementation.

So the notion that this was some super-secret agency and Tony Snow accidentally let the cat out of the bag is ridiculous. It's another one of our Merry Pason confessions.

The Brawl on the Phone Call: SLC Versus LC Friday Night

I have agreed to debate Dylan Avery on Rob Bishop's show tonight (Update: Friday Night) at 8:00 PM Eastern time. I don't generally agree to requests from "Truther" Radio programs because I don't think I'm hitting my target audience. It's somewhat like debating the evolution side at the Southern Baptist Convention, but I decided to try it because Rob was very courteous in his email correspondence with me. Mancow Update

Okay, if you didn't stay tuned you probably thought I was on for ten seconds, but Mancow brought me back on a little later to talk about WTC-7. I pointed out that WTC-7 is the gateway drug to 9-11 Denial, that it seems safe because nobody died in that building, and for a change, the Deniers aren't taking a leak on somebody's grave. But really, it's not harmless; if you buy Rosie's argument that WTC-7 came down because of controlled demolition, then you have to buy that the Twin Towers were also demolished, because otherwise there would be no excuse for WTC-7 collapsing. So you've gotta bite off the whole enchilada, not just a little nibble.

He also asked what I found most offensive about Loose Change, and I immediately responded that it's the argument about the cellphone calls being voice morphing technology. As longtime readers of this blog know, that's the section of Loose Change that set me off and caused me to agree when James B. suggested we set up a blog to combat the Loosers.
