9-11 Denier McKinney May Be Heading Home

We may have some reason to celebrate on August 8th. That's when Cynthia McKinney will face fellow Democrat Hank Johnson in a run-off election for the Democratic nomination for her seat in Congress. Listen to these poll numbers:

A new poll by InsiderAdvantage shows Johnson leading McKinney 46 percent to 21 percent, with one-third of voters undecided. The survey recorded the responses of 480 likely voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 5 percentage points.

The old rule of thumb in politics is that the undecideds will break heavily against the incumbent. For McKinney to be sitting at 21 percent is stunning. I doubt that this has a whole lot to do with her 9-11 antics and quite a bit to do with her assault on a Capitol Hill police officer. But we'll take a victory over her any way we can get it.

Full Disclosure: I am a Pajamas Media blogger at Brainster's Blog and Johnson has run advertisements on PJ Media blogs.

Actually, it'd be better for the republicans if McKinney kept her seat. Hers is a constituency that isn't likely to go republican anyway.

Generally, it's easier for one side or another to win in the field of public debate if thier opponents are stark raving insane.

If anything positive can be said for Cynthia "Jihad Cindy" McKinney, it's that she's good for laughs.

Sword, that's true, but I'd like to see the Democrats become the loyal opposition and giving McNinny the boot would be a good start. Absolutely whoever wins the Democratic primary will win the general, so there's no chance the GOP can pick up the seat.

Agree with Pat. I'd rather have a loyal opposition than lunatics any day. Heck, I'd even be OK with democrats in general if they were the sane ones. Of course, that's influenced by the fact that I'm partially in a position to tailor my income to the tax code, but still.

With this election I'm with the "Anyone but McKinney" ticket.

I don't see the problem with him calling the Iraqi PM an antisemite. He is.

I have a problem with Howard Dean calling people anti-semite only when it's convenient for him, but otherwise ignoring it.

Ok, good. I've seen numerous conservative blogs pointing the comment out like Dean was wrong.

Oh, you're totally correct with having a problem with it. I never said he wasn't an opportunist, he certainly is. It's like America (and the West in particular) seems to pretend we don't have a problem with antisemitism. I've seen pictures of plenty of pro-Hizbollah rallies in numerous Western countries. We obviously have a problem.
