In Which I Agree and Disagree With Dylan

Without getting personal.

Dylan posts several pictures here about the horrors of increased security at US airports in the wake of the arrest of the plotters in England.

What he misses is that most people see that kind of security as reassuring in the wake of the tragedy that Islamofascists had in mind for next Wednesday. Most people see those National Guardsmen with relief, not dread.

That said, he does make a good point here:

I think even in terms of the "War on Terror", you have to draw the line at a senior citizen with lip balm.

Real terrorist profiling would not concentrate on Grandma Chapstick.

I'm getting sick of the scare quotes around War on Terror (hell, technically speaking it's the Global War on Terrorism).

His title makes no sense.

I think we should give up liberty for freedom. Wait a second...

Uhh, liberty and freedom are synonyms. I think you meant to say "liberty for safety" to paraphrase the famous Benjamin Franklin quote.

This is from the kid (Why do I call him "kid"? He's a couple years older than me.) who confused Hilary Swank with Hilary Duff.

It is not doublespeak, it just makes no sense.

I don't see how it's doublethink. Doublethink would be saying "freedom and despotism are the same". What that person said just makes no sense.

Although doublethink itself makes no sense.

My husband's classmate flew in to Manila from Bohol, and said that she had to check her purse.
So, at least in Manila you are safe from 81 year old Catholic grandmothers.
But the dirty little secret is that bribery would get a bomb on a plane... something that NWA has figured out (My cousin told me they park their planes overnight in Taiwan not Manila...don't know if it's still true).

You should put Islamofascists in quotes since they really don't exist, well, at least at your local airport.

On another note, no, people do not feel reassured. A lot of us can see the framework for the rise of the police state right in front of us. That being said, do you really think assault rifles are going to stop liquid nitroglycerine bottles from a "terrorist" sneaking them on board? Who is this show of force really targeted at? You're correct in that some people feel safer but all in all this is just more priming of the public to accept unconstitutional searches and, mark my words, extrajudicial killings by the homeland security goon squads.

What's this all about anyway? What you guys are not aware of is that either the bottom is going to come off of the economy or we will get hit with another massive "terrorist" Al-CIA-duh strike which in turn will kill the economy and even you guys will join the ranks of the "terrorists" when you loose you homes and livelihoods. Know your enemy!

Korey Rowe on his critics (Loose Change blog): How do you explain the viewers guides? I say, "have you read them?" These guides are fact-less, minus the errors that we publicly retracted and that have now been fixed in the second edition re-cut that we just put up on Google video, ONCE AGAIN FOR FUCKING FREE! They attack our character. You know, fine, I’m not Jesus, I’m not perfect, no one is. I have made mistakes, I am human. My biggest mistake was not being able to see the truth before I went to Iraq and killed people for a lie."

These guides are fact-less? Since when?

Personally I don't think that alone should condemn any nationality because the history of collaboration is found in so many ethnic and religious groups worldwide.

I don't think the term (stupid sounding as it is) has anything to do with every Muslim. When I hear the term I think of the Islamists and takfiri, not the majority of Muslims who aren't murderous bastards.

Islamofascism is a brilliant word conjured up by some ass in the administration to inflame the masses

Wrong. It was either coined in the Independent or the Washington Times.

I've never seen a movie or show with either actress and I can easily tell the difference. I don't go out of my way to "learn" pop culture, we're inundated.

Nice, too bad the quote in question made no sense. Next time try to pick something that isn't stupid.

How's Final Edition coming? Read the Viewer's Guide and fix all of Second Edition's mistakes?

At 12 August, 2006 09:45, Blogger shawn said...

Oh, and Dylan it said "HILARY SWANK" on the Vanity Fair you put on your post. Perhaps you don't know Swank and Duff are different names.

Dylan, tell Korey not to lie on your blog. He said the viewer's guides are factless. Perhaps he got them confused with your videos.

Dylan, tell Korey not to lie on your blog.

Dylan, for all his pretensions to play nice in the thread about the flight recorders (where he proved himself once again physiologically incapable of doing even the most basic research), is still lying himself. His latest is claiming that he did not dispute the airphone calls, when he did.

He is a terror supporter whom I hope gets stomach cancer and he will never, ever stop lying.

In fact, it is entirely descripive of much of the forces waging war against us. The Muslim Brotherhood and the Ba'athist parties of Iraq and Syria, for example, have direct historical ties back to the European fascist movements, and Hezbollah takes its inspiration from those same movements. Wahhibism and it's spiritual children such as al Qaeda do not have a direct connection to the original fascists but share the same philosophy of government and many of the same tactics, such as terrorism. The mullahs in Iran are not fascists in the classical sense, but frankly calling them fascists is an insult to actual fascists, not to the mullahs.

Hmmm their salute looks awfully familiar...

Where have I seen it before?

At 12 August, 2006 10:34, Blogger Alex said...

Didn't the romans use the same salute? Anyway, that's hardly a relevant factor when considering how closely they may resemble Nazi faschism. A more relevant fact may be that Mein Kampf is a best seller in most of the muslim world.

It was also the American civilian salute prior to the war.

And like the Nazis (as with any antisemite worth his salt), they all buy the proved frogery the Protocols of the Elders of Zion as an historical document.

FWIW, the relevant Loose Change blog entry still says "Hillary Duff". This was originally posted on July 7.

The quote is actually: "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they attack you, then you win."

Comparing Dylan to Gandhi is disgusting.

At 12 August, 2006 23:42, Blogger The Artistic Macrophage said...

In which case, he is simultaneously in 2 and 3 right now. He will likely win, but not in the way his apostles think he will...he will sign a deal, make a "Real movie" because of his "fame", and then the cause, and his 5,000 diciples will be forgotten...

and my comparision is sarcastic...

In Dylan's case: "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they attack you, then you lose.". Now you know:D!

Once upon a time in Norway, this elderly couple was passing through airport security when a narcotics/bomb dog "marked" them. The security team would never even have consider searching them if it was not for the dog, but it did turn out they were carrying narcotics.

And either way, who's to say 80-year olds can't be suicide hijackers? Is it really more unlikely that he/she would kill herself than that a 20-year old with the whole life ahead of him would? Elderly women can be just as hateful and crazy as us youngsters, you know.

I don't get it.
