Ben Sliney Interviewed

Sliney was the FAA operations chief on 9-11, who made the decision to order the national groundstop.

What do you make of the conspiracy theories? Some people say United 93 was shot down...

First of all, there were no military aircraft near it. Secondly, I don’t subscribe to any of the theories. Conspiracy theorists pick and choose what bits of evidence they want to use. For example, if it wasn’t American 77 that hit the Pentagon, then where is that plane and all those people?

We usually rely on the pilot telling us a plane has been hijacked or the transponder code squawking in a particular way. But transponders can go wrong, they can be shut off, there can be electrical faults. Suddenly, any plane we couldn’t contact or which had deviated from its course became suspicious - on any given day, there can be many planes acting suspiciously for legitimate reasons. We sent out a directive that every plane with a change of route or altitude, or a switched-off transponder, be reported to us. We tried to develop as much information as we could on all those flights and, unfortunately, United 93 and American 77, which hit the Pentagon, were on the list.

America's entire aviation industry is a government shill.
