British Denier MP to Stand for Prime Minister
Not that he's got a chance in hell of winning:
The former environment minister Michael Meacher today launched his bid to succeed Tony Blair as leader of the Labour Party under a banner promising "peace, social justice, climate survival".
Mr Meacher insisted it was not a "foregone conclusion" that Gordon Brown would be the next leader, and said he was "fully confident" of receiving the 44 MPs' nominations needed to get on to the ballot paper alongside the Chancellor.
Launching his bid at Westminster, he unveiled a policy platform including complete withdrawal from Iraq and no involvement in any military action against Iran, opposition to Trident and nuclear power, a £7-an-hour minimum wage and measures to reduce the difference in pay between the richest and poorest.
Meacher of course has been probably the most prominent 9-11 Denier in UK politics. He has appeared in several 9-11 kook films, including Terrorstorm and (IIRC) 9-11 Mysteries. He was the MP who planned a parliamentary screening of Loose Change, although in that case he apparently came to his senses.
Here he highlights the Pakistani ISI connection, which Do-Over Dylan is going to feature in Loose Change Final Cut:
He repeats the claim that the wire transfer has been confirmed by the FBI, which is nonsense, based on one unsourced article in the Times of India.
Meacher was apparently a rising star in the Labour Party in England in the early 1980s, until he decided to sue a newspaper for supposedly libeling him, when it claimed that his father became a farm labourer by choice after being an accountant.
Meacher lost the trial, became something of a laughingstock, and worse still, had to pay the newspaper's attorneys' cost, all of which pretty well scotched his ambitions for higher office.

It boggles my mind how anyone from Britain can support a film like TerrorStorm - the research Jones seems to have done on our country would appear to be as painstaking as the research he's done on, well, pretty much everything else.
I wonder what went through Meacher's mind when he heard the bit about the 7/7 bombings being set off to deliver the imminent election to Tony Blair? Did he just think "Oh, right, we hold our elections in midsummer now. Some mental patient on the Internet said we do, so it must be true."
Troy,
I agree with you (that the Ron Paul for Pres. idea is laughable).
Alex Jones Watch #9: Avoiding the Issue of 9/11 with Ron Paul
Haha, oh dear. And running on rather old lefty policies too. Bit of an unfortunate all rounder being a bit of a joke and running on unpopular policies.
Terrorstorm still tickles me about how it changed a diversion caused by an earlier bomb explosion into the bus apparently being controlled by the police, and the way it tries to portray ministerial functions is just bloody hilarious. Good old Alex Jones.

lol. thanks for that gem, CHF. There's nothing quite as fun as watching a bunch of morons accuse each other of being FBI agents.
Also, Nico is one goofy looking mofo.
much more entertaining:

Meacher appears to be of the LIHOP variety. I suppose comparing LIHOP to MIHOP is like comparing dogcrap versus pigcrap, maybe there is a meaningful distinction somewhere.
Ron Paul is actually a courageous politician in many regards, he has stood against the wind on many issues when it wasn't popular (one of the few Republicans to vote against the original authorization to invade Iraq) but I guess he feels the need to pander to the large fraction of nutzoids in the among the libertarian movement. He was the Libertarian Party nominee for Pres in 1988.
Pakistani ISI Chief General Mahmud
orders an aide to wire transfer $100,000 to
Mohammed Atta, who was according to the FBI, the lead
terrorist in the suicide hijackings. Mahmud recently resigned after the transfer was disclosed in India and confirmed by the FBI.
Pat, you state this is nonsense because the FBI official isn't sourced. Has the FBI denied this news story? WHy would Mahmud resign? Early retirement package??
Come on, basing your arguement on a unsourced FBI official is ridiculous. You use the same unnamed sources to support your position time and time again on this blog.
In regards to 9/11 and London I find it simply amazing that official drills and practices were taking place at the exact same time of the exact same manner that the attacks were carried out.
That's because you're an idiot who doesn't know the first thing about government procedures and operations, and automatically blame The Conspiracy for anything you don't understand.
Meacher will also do Gordon Brown the great favour of splitting the old left vote (there's another old left candidate). With MPs split between the two, neither will get the required 44 nominations and Gordon Brown will be moving next door.
Interestingly Meacher voted FOR the war in Iraq. He wasn't a conspiracy theorist then!
Maybe he was, but wanted cheap oil :D
Actually Meacher is a much more credible and sensible politician than he seems here. I am pretty sure he wouldn't mention an ISI link unless he was pretty sure there was one.
I agree that he shouldn't be associating with the truth movement, but I see no evidence that he is in any way a MIHOPer, and it should be remembered that despite all of the nonsense floating around the net, that there are still concerns surrounding the actualy provable events of 9/11.
