A Day Late and a Dollar Short

A few days ago I was joking on the JREF forum that Mr. Chavez would make Uncle Fetzer's weekly radio program. Sadly I was right, about 20 minutes into the program his guest Sean Glazier brings it up:

Glazier: Absolutely and there were automated missile batteries there [at the Pentagon] and recently L.J. Chavez, who was a sergeant who worked at CENTCOM in Florida, Central Command in Florida recently came out and confirmed that during 9/11 there was a stand down order, uhh, issued. And the officers were arguing over it during that day, and he has given interviews as well.

Fetzer: And my impression is that he has just been sacked, which is of course completely consistent with this administration anyone who speaks the truth, they get FIRED or PUNISHED or humiliated, people who lie and deceive the American people, they're rewarded and promoted and honored.

Hey, remember they are the Scholars for 9/11 "Truth".

Scenario A: The US government manages to force a private company to fire a valuable employee who, for some reason, has a forged military release form, and whose story makes no sense chronologically or factually, but who is really in possession of THE TRUTH (tm) about Sept. 11th.

orrrrr....

Scenario B: A private company gets pissed off at an employee who's lying in public about a fairly touchy event, and is dumb enough to involve the company in his antics.

Which one is more likely?

I sent the following note to Fox News:

Dear Sean and Alan,

Last night's segment with Jim Fetzer was beyond the pale. If you intend to provide air time for an utter charlatan to disseminate his pernicious myths, you'd better know how to refute them. The snake oil Fetzer peddles is demonstrably false, but it is necessary to explain why. If you want a sample of Fetzer's reasoning skills, check out his two-part debate with J. R. Dunn on americanthinker.com (look in the archives for 'Dunn'). When you content yourself with ad hominem argument, these crackpots make a few converts. They must be exposed and that requires specific knowledge.

Best Regards,
Ronald Wieck

Yeah, I have sent similar e-mails to both Hannity & Colmes. I think they just have him on for entertainment purposes, like strippers on Jerry Springer.

He looks like the type that would get up and do a square dance like they do on that show.

As for Fetzer in general, he is a weak link. Not because he can't speak, I mean he obviously is able to public speak, but because he is so poorly researched. He brings up all these old, well debunked claims that half of his movement dont even believe any more...he is just sad.

What kills me is that the Fetzer crowd will be the first to bemoan the fact that FoxNews is a certain appendage of the Bush administration, but in all honesty, I haven't seen any other network (cable or alphabet) give more airtime to these loons than Fox has.

Too bad you've still got that minor problem of having to provide proof.

With an attitude like that I'm sure your un-biased, independant investigation will get off to a great start.

Hey Andrew, what fight are you fighting? Last time I checked, fighting means acting. Acting DOES NOT include whiney little posts on forums.

Besides that, just what the hell are you doing? By "fight the good fight", I hope you mean you're rallying your troops and you're actually going to do something constructive, but I highly doubt it.

I mean, I know what you're doing, I'd like to know what kind of difference you're making. None whatsoever.

And blah, blah, blah, I'm a shill, I support Bush, I know, do me a favor and spare me your ridiculous, paranoid claims of what I am.

I assume those children you're talking about include you.

Andrew, for your attempt at guilt to work, I would have to feel what I am doing is wrong, and I do not, so I don't have to hope my children will be proud of me, I know they will. They will know that regardless of all the ridicule and name calling, I stuck to the facts, and demanded proof before I believed any heresay or speculation. In the end, the truth will win through. Will the end story look like the original...of course not, but I know it will look much more like the original, then your twisted, maligned gibberish.

Unlike Andrews parents, I will make certain that my children have a solid understanding of logical thinking. That's important. It's not something you can just pick up at school, and definitely not something you'll learn as an adult. They have to learn it early, otherwise they'll end up like Andrew and Nesnyc. And the last thing I need is little fanatics running around the house trying to tell me that Bush blew up the WTC to cover up Jimmy Hoffa's body, and take attention away from the successful capture of bigfoot.

Hey, does anyone know how long it takes to be promoted to Sgt in the US army? According to this guys docs he achieved his current rank in 2 years and 5 days. That seems rather fast. James, help me out here?

At 28 September, 2006 21:16, Blogger Richard said...

The time in service requirement is 36 months and the time in grade requirement is 8 months. So the short answer is no.

At 28 September, 2006 21:28, Blogger Alex said...

Awesome. So unless I'm misreading this, he's also forged that part of his form. Check it out:

He joins in 1995/09/06.
He gets promoted to SGT 2 years later on 1997/09/01.
Then he receives no more promotions for the next 5 years untill he leaves the military on 2002/07/19.

Looks fishy. Although if he made E-4 in 2 years and then got stuck there for the next 5, it would mesh perfectly with him being released under a Chapter 13 (poor performance).

If the "Truthers" could find someone who claimed that they were on the hijacked jets on 9/11 and survived, they would put them forward in a heartbeat.

How anyone listens to these kookoos is beyond me.

Actually, I'm surprised they are not more wary of smoking gun types. The fact that they let these clowns make fools of them suggests they actually believe these theories and think real whistle blowers must be out there.

I have allways assumed they know its all a big con.

"A 24-year-old who had never worked in finance -- but had applied for a White House job -- was sent to reopen Baghdad's stock exchange. The daughter of a prominent neoconservative commentator and a recent graduate from an evangelical university for home-schooled children were tapped to manage Iraq's $13 billion budget, even though they didn't have a background in accounting."

Great post Joan, you just proved there were bombs in the towers.

Frankly Joan, I'd rather have a LOYAL 24 year old with no background in accounting managing a $13 billion budget, than a 60 year old accountant with 40 years experience who knows very well how to hide and misdirect money and just happens to have voted for the Democrats in the last 10 elections. Makes sense, n'est pas?

And, as Homer put it, what in the flying fuck does any of that have to do with termites in the kibbler elves tree? You think it'd be possible for you to stick to one topic for...ohhhh, I don't know....FIVE minutes? At least?

Haven't you figured it out yet...it is the "truther" way. When one topic is brought up, immediately switch to another topic, the topic you want to preach about.

Like Pat and James have said. This is a Blog. The post things they want to comment on, and allow (ALLOW) us to comment on THOSE Topics. If you wanna talk about other issue, and you aren't afraid, come over to JREF and post a topic in the forums.
