Ron Wieck (Corrected) Slaps Down Les Jamieson on DVD
If you'd like to watch one of the best performances by a 9-11 Debunker against a 9-11 Denier on DVD, Ron Wieck's controlled demolition of Les Jamieson is hard to top. We reviewed this back in July.

Just a quibble about the spelling of my name: it's W-I-E-C-K.
You'd think the producer would GIVE a me DVD. No such luck.
He was "ambushed"? I told him before the show that I regarded this conspiracy stuff as bullshit. If refusing to swallow insupportable rubbish constitutes an ambush, I guess I'm guilty.
I've rewatched this about a half-dozen times, it's so great how he just keeps trying to move on and can't really make an argument besides "it's this way because I say so".
Les was crushed, end of sotry. Ron was taking him on, "one on one", no ganging up.
As well, at the time of the interview, unlike now, Ron had only an essential knowledge of the 9/11 conspiracy arguments adn evidence, yet was able to tear one of the movements leaders to shreds.
Well done Ron, once again.

Thanks, TAM, but without any false modesty I ask what would have happened to poor Les if he had faced you or Mark Roberts. The most powerful impression I took away from the two shows was astonishment at how little the fantasists have. I continue to wonder how anyone, no matter how stupid or crazy, can profess to believe such obvious nonsense.
I think some of the prowess of a debate comes from knowledge, but a large percentage of winning the viewer, is in how the debator handles the topic, the questions, and the opponent. Though particularly true in politics, it is also true in 9/11 debates.

Well young john was sitting around eating that delicious government food and sat next to a MISSLE BATTERY!!!!
His father would have to tell him, "hey dont touch that, that is a missle battery"
He leaves out that this was in the 1950s anyway. I addressed it briefly in my missiles at the Pentagon paper. Judge is now a big conspiracy theorist, who works for Cynthia McKinney if I remember right.

When conspiracy liars peddle their snake oil about Ashcroft's "refusal" to fly on commercial airlines, I always get a kick out of their reaction to my question, why do you suppose Ashcroft was NOT a member of the Impossibly Vast Conspiracy? You get a slack-jawed blank look; you hear creaking sounds as the wheels in their shriveled brains grind slowly to form the word, "Duh." Then, the light bulb appears over their heads: Hey! Nobody who knows precisely what planes are going to be flown into buildings is afraid to fly on OTHER planes!!! Duh, indeed.
Simmo, Mike Newman of NIST graciously consented to answer my questions in a phone interview. He commented that it was odd that Rodriguez would show up at the hearings, but managed to elude the researchers who wanted to talk with him. He ignored written requests and changed addresses. He indicated a desire to sell his story. Sounds pretty heroic to me.
