Nico Haupt News

First off, we've got an obvious Nico imposter posting occasionally in the comments here. If you see a comment from Ewing2001, do not assume it's really Nico. Check the link under his name; if it's leads you here, it's the imposter. You can tell that it's not really Nico, because that blogger profile reads:

It's been a rough six years, but I'm turning over a new leaf. I hope many I've offended can forgive me in time.

And at the phony Nico Haupt blog, there's an apology to 9-11 Blogger.

I apologize to dz and 911Blogger for not only slandering your person and your site, but also for my inexcusable trolling before you banned anonymous posts. It was nasty and juvenile, and there was no excuse.

That this is not really Nico is obvious from this post over at 9-11 Blogger:

According to Les Jamieson, leader of the NY group:

"On Sunday Jan. 21st Nico Haupt came to our Sunday event at St. Marks Church. He interrupted it and caused a huge disturbance. When people tried to oppose him he just cursed them out. Then he taped a printout of the email below (archive) on the wall. I'm sorry for any shock or disgust you'll experience, but I think it's important that this be seen."

The email went on to include photos depicting prominent 9/11 activists and Websites - including 911Blogger - depicted as associated with nazi imagery, swastikas, concentration camps and excrement.

John Albanese, who posted the claim about Nico's actions, wants him arrested for a hate crime, which is ridiculous. There is certainly some offensive stuff on that page, but free speech allows us to be offensive. This is not remotely the same thing as spray-painting a swastika on the side of a synagogue.

Anyway, I'm going to do my best to remove the phony Nico's posts.

If you're wondering why I handle the real Nico so gently, it's because he's actually quite a bit more reasonable than many other 9-11 Deniers. He doesn't insult people here, he doesn't insult the firefighters or the passengers or their families or the pilots or Edna Cintron, or engage in Holocaust Denial. I can point out many, many instances of the more prominent, supposedly more mainstream 9-11 Deniers who cannot say the same. His news aggregator is one of my regular stops looking for bloggable content.

And I think he's dead on the money when he talks about the movement and the efforts by various cults to subvert it to their own ends.

Thanks for the leg work here.

Fair enough. I apologize to "real" Nico for failing to believe he had a doppelganger.

I re-read stuff, and realized that it may be the "real" Nico commenting about me, so no mystery there.

OK, so how does he do that? I thought blogspot was on a system where a name could be assigned only once. Is that incorrect? Could I sign up as tom and bg and ewing2001 Pat and James B. and have conversations with myself all day?

BG, yeah, that's the real one. Which is another good reason to think I've correctly identified the fake one.

Manny, the problem is that blogger comments show up under your posting name, not the user name you login with (which only one person can have). I am sure that there are dozens if not hundreds of people using the posting names of "Pat", "Tom" and "Manny".

OK wait, I have no personal problems with Nico, but to say that he's a bit LESS wacked out than others is unreal. The last conversation I had with him (about a month ago) he was telling me about organizing a protest in front of ABC because they were the first TV Station to run a pic of the second plane hitting and thus are at the root of "911 TV Fakery."

I remember having no reaction other than, "have fun with that."

Nicholas, I don't consider anybody in the "Truth" movement a friend, and I'm sure Nico feels the same way. We both just have bigger fish to fry at the moment.

Craig, maybe reasonable is not the word I'm looking for; less offensive covers it better, but even that's a little off because I've definitely heard from both sides that he's abrasive. He just hasn't done anything here that's bothered me, and his beef seems more with the other Truthers than with the rest of us. Plus I find it ironic that those who gripe so loudly about the gatekeepers on the left are busily erecting a gate to keep out the no-planers.

The real Nico is for all intents and purposes a goddamn link-spam-bot on here, while the "fake" Nico actually offers opinions and is quite civil. Yet you're going out of your way to remove fake Nico's comments while leaving the real ones!

Not trying to criticize, but, damn, that's really ironic.

Ironic, but for all he is a spambot and "out to lunch" on 9/11, the guy is entitled to his own unique representation online, and not to have some one pretend to be him.

I agree, rational and reasonable are not the best word choices, but he seems to be less caustic and more benign in his argumentation than most of the others (such as PDoh and others).

Pat,

Fair enough. I PERSONALLY, don't have a problem with Nico, but I was put off by the idea of describing him as "reasonable."

Regarding the left gate keepers vs. no planners, that one stumps me at times too. First, understand that I'd be considered a "limited hangout" by most of the hardcore truthers, as I have a lot of background in politics and just won't go there in terms of theorizing.

Anyway, there is a certain hypocrisy to slamming leftists who won't discuss 9/11 conspiracy (or dismiss it outright) and then getting annoyed with someone when they promote a theory that, while reaching, is a theory. I've always found it to be confusing to me wheny ou write off someone just because they don't want to get into talk of 9/11 conspiracy.
So you're right. The message here is, "you're worthless and wrong is you disagree with us... oh... and only listen to these people regarding 9/11 truth."

That was a bit of rambling, but I hope it makes sense.

Finally, no matter how crazy I think Nico is (and I think he ranks pretty high up there), I will attest that he believes in what he's doing 100%.

I dunno even about that. Among the troofers, I'd pick him first in the "who will be the next to harass Dan Rather in a cab and then shoot someone outside the Today Show studios" pool. Unless it's all an elaborate piece of performance art, a possibility which I still haven't completely discounted in his case.

That said, he should be burdened solely by his own idiocy and insanity, not someone else's. The SLC boys made the right call here.

Life just keeps surprising you, eh? I would have never imagined that two sides who never do anything except launch ad-hominem attacks at genuine 9/11 skeptics would ever find anything in common!

Stop calling yourself skeptics. You're fucking pseudoskeptics.

I know my opinion carries little weight, but just putting it in anyway.

When it comes to pointing out frauds, Nico is definitely on the ball. I respect Pat for being able to perceive that.

However, in one "debunking" article, Nico was saying that an individual was in Phi Beta Kappa, as if that membership was like the Skull and Bones. (I respect those of you who would say they are equally meaningless.) As most of you may know membership in PBK is rather routine at most colleges for high performing students. I emailed Nico and told him he was making himself look silly by including that. He emailed me back saying it made his criticism sound better.

Leaving aside the casting asperions that Nico does, he has been part of work at Team8 and other places that seem extremely worthwhile to me. I would not have ever had such a strong awareness of the Naudet Bros video if not for Nico and Webfairy. (reference here: WTC 'Plane' Crash Videos
) The Hlava video, referenece at the same linked page above, supposedly taken by tourists at the spur of the moment, seems to be taken from a camera mounted on top of the vehicle. The "top of the vehicle camera mount", if true, blows away the official story on that video.

It's ironic that I'm going back to killtown for this, in light of the silly pictures in the smoke stuff killtown recently released.

Overall I appreciate SLC Blog for allowing "truther" comments, and for appreciating that people like Albanese and Jamison's integrity can't stand up to scrutiny.

Albanese continues to threaten Haupt to "retire" from 9/11 Blogosphere

Albanese continues to threaten Haupt to "retire" from 9/11 Blogosphere
picked up at:
http://www.911blogger.com/node/5972#comment-113878
Submitted by John Albanese on Mon, 02/05/2007 - 6:37pm

"...Mr. Haupt should seriously consider retiring from 911 activism - permanently - or face the consequences...."

Meanwhile an Imposter, linked to this IP, is continuing to spread a similar 'message', i.e. also at ScrewLooseChange, who already recognized the difference of character:

"... I'm planing on taking a break from 911activism to get my bearings...."

This morning the Imposter also added the remark:
Monday, February 5, 2007 1:52 AM
"... what we did at the church as inexcusable..."

While it couldn't be established who "we" is, it appears that this Imposter and Albanese have something in common and refer to the same church 'incident':

To stop Haupt posting in blogosphere, especially about the controversial background of David Ray Griffin, Prof. Steven Jones and other "leaders" of the 9/11 'Truth' Movement, which had been turned into a dishonest and disinformal sect or cult, which was not only mentioned by Haupt, but by a rising number of activists of this movement.

Albanese also continued to spread or support the following lies:..

I'm fascinated that the criterion for banning people seems to be boiling down to whether they engage in what you people (and this is the blockage to intelligent thought) call "Holocaust Denial" (as if you knew something about the topic, even).

1) Nobody's been banned for anything, let alone holocaust denial.

2) Fuck off you anti-semitic twat.

Go on, Rowan, find me someone who's been banned from this blog for Holocaust denial. Your time starts... now.

Actually, the blockage to intelligent thought is Holocaust denial itself.

It's not a euphemism. It's not a code word. It's what it is. You children need to realize this.

I'm going to assume you're not an intelligent person, as you're defending Holocaust denial.

I'm curious as to why you'd associate yourself with a 'no-planer'?

Nico is a provocateur at best.

You may disagree strongly with WAC and LC but this guy is unstable.
