Argument to Authority: A Textbook Case

There is a reason why argument to authority is a logical fallacy (see Richard Gage) and here is another example. In this case the truthers interview a firefighter for his opinion on 9/11. Now I will agree that anyone who runs into burning buildings for a living is a hero, but that doesn't make them right. In this case you need get no further than him explaining what turned him on to the "truth" which is, get this, the fact that Marvin Bush was head of World Trade Center security.

Oh brother. And if you skip towards the end you can listen to the guy explain how Larry Silverstein, who just bought building 7 a couple of months before, told the firefighters to "take down" the building for safety reasons. Hey, he is a firefighter, he must be right.
