Bermas: I'm Not Calling Anybody A Liar; I'm Calling You a Liar

Here's part of the Loosers' debate with Popular Mechanics this morning on Democracy Now. Note that Bermas, starting about 2:00 into the clip, says about the pancake collapse theory that "This is simply a lie". When Meigs points out that Bermas has a habit of calling people liars, he responds with a classic:

"I'm not calling anybody a liar, I'm calling you a liar."

Of course, we all know that Bermas lies so much that his back teeth are brown. Anybody remember the "Loose Change Goes to Ground Zero" where Bermas claims that he's not with anybody else at Ground Zero, that he doesn't know anybody there? Unfortunately, he's standing right next to Dylan Avery at the time, and Korey Rowe is filming the whole sequence.

about what I expected on both sides. Miegs isn't a great communicator, but he is decent. The two boys act about as I expect, although I will give Dylan credit for acting more mature than i expected. Bermas is a disrespectful bum.

Perhaps next time Pat and James should be debating the loosers on this type of show... i bet they'd chicken out, though..

Strictly looking at this from the point of view of "opening skeptics' eyes", just seeing Avery and Bermas look like bratty children versus the Popular Mechanics guys being calm and letting them finish their comments is bad news for the movement. If you're trying to change people's minds, you better come off better than an angry teenager.

Explain the validity of this statement

If you believe that the WTC was brought down in a controlled demolition, you're an idiot. Ergo, they are idiots.

Mocking dead people is immature, ergo they are immature pricks.

Mocking dead people is evil not immature. Their conduct during the interview on the other hand was quite immature.

"I'm not calling anyone a liar Sir, I'm calling YOU a liar, because you lie!".

Yep, real mature. I just love the fact that the PM guys were smiling the entire time. You can practically read their thoughts. Something along the lines of "I can't believe we're debating these two ignorant, immature imbeciles! It's like shooting fish in a barrel..."

Facts:
Dylan and Bermas will appeal to mostly those hermits and asswipes under 25...

and what group votes the least, and does the least politically...those under 25...Their movement is toast from the get-go.

And if you wish to debate nick_m, the place is JREF, and you can come over anyday and have someone kick your ass intellectually.

Joan, calling people "liars" and telling them they are "wrong" without backing it up comes off as amateur, and young and silly, in a debate. This is exactly how Bermas looks. I actually credit Avery for keeping his mouth shut, and for the most part being relatively respectful.

ou ignore that the PM guys DO NOT answer Bermas and Avery's question regarding peoeple being burnt BEFORE the plane hit the tower.

Eh?

Maybe they...like me....didn't hear him say that. Now, I'm gonna go and re-watch the clip just to make sure, but this is the first I've heard of any such claims. Personaly I think you just pulled that out of your ass just now.

The youth have always been the future...but they're not the present. Meaning right now they're pretty irrelevant. That's why they're the future. They won't become relevant (or in Avery and Bermas cases, educated) untill the future.

Ah, ok, I see. He's talking about William Rodriguez. I'd heard his claims before, but didn't realize he actually claimed all of that was going on BEFORE the aircraft hit. I thought he was a little misguided before, now I'm pretty sure he's RTFO. He claims reporters told him to keep quit because "you don't know who you're dealing with". So I guess we can add reporters to the list of people who have been paid off by The New World Order (tm). Meanwhile, little Willie's the only one who witnessed "the troof". Good on him for aiding in the rescue effort, but I find it curious that none of the 15 people he rescued have come forward to tell about explosions before the impact. Were all of them paid off too? Funny that Willie doesn't mention anyone offering HIM vast amounts of money to shut up and join the conspiracy.

And then there's the question of why exactly anyone would want to set off explosives before the aircraft hit. CT nutters keep insisting the collapses were a "controlled demolition", yet hearing them tell the story it seems there were explosions going on all over the place for a good half hour or longer. In a controlled demolition all the explosives go off within seconds of each other, not at random time intervals. Setting them off all over the building at random times would only destabilize the towers, and could lead to a much different collapse than what we saw (for instance, collapse initiation at ground level, which would definitely have looked fishy). Nothing about these claims makes the least bit of sense.

Also, on 9/11/01, CNN published an article that included an interview with willie. Here's what he had to say at that time:

"We heard a loud rumble, then all of a sudden we heard another rumble like someone moving a whole lot of furniture," Rodriguez said. "And then the elevator opened and a man came into our office and all of his skin was off."

Ofcourse, afterwards "rumble" became "explosives". Witness statements that change over time in order to suit the individuals personal goals are really not the most reliable of persuasion methods.

PS The youth are the future of this country, and to disregard those under the age of 25 is a crock of bullshit.

As someone who's just shy of 21, I say we should disregard most of the people in my age group.

I would never be able to sleep again if I had witnessed something like that. A bad horror movie.

What a couple of punks. And I thought I despised them before. Bermas went through the entire show with that stupid arrogant smirk on his face, what an idiot.

I'm 24 and I can easily say I weep for the future. From 16-25 give or take people are really impressionable. This CT bull really sticks with the anti-government, anti-authority attitude that many of my peers have. Unfortunatly this is going to really skew their idea of what politics is.

I'm political in a way that involves research, debate and ultimately voting. My peers think that being political means:

STFU! BU$H SUX!!!1ONE

With crap like that nothing productive is going to happen for a decade.

How is a blog not an appropriate venue for debating issues? You ignore that the PM guys DO NOT answer Bermas and Avery's question regarding peoeple being burnt BEFORE the plane hit the tower.

1. A forum, like JREF is better equipped to offer a seperate threat where your theory can be presented and you and others can debate its merits, with links, pictures, opions, papers, etc...

2. If you want to pick appart individual aspects of the "debate" (it was hardly one), then let us look at the number of time that Bermas and/or Dylan simply called the PM guys liars, or simply say to them "thats a lie" or "thats wrong" without even the slightest reference or back up to prove it.

Lying Dylan, making fun of Bermas' appearance by calling him an ape gets us nowhere.

I did not do this. I think Bermas attitude speaks for itself. However, if i were to describe him I would call it "obnoxious arrogance" and an "undeserved confidence".

PS The youth are the future of this country, and to disregard those under the age of 25 is a crock of bullshit.

I was specifically speaking about those 16-25 year olds who spend all their time in front of a computer and have no idea about what real life is about. I know lots of people in that age bracket that are out there, living life, getting educated, volunteering, who are wonderful people. It is those people who will be the real "future" of the world.

danny:

i shouldn't even respond to such drivel, but here is what I will say.

#1. explain your "invisible building" theory to the trucks who passed right through where the towers stood, collecting steel beams and debris, yet never once did they run into these "invisible towers".

#2. explain your theory to the firemen and search and rescue who went through the entire site with a fine tooth comb, yet never bumped into the "invisible towers".

I can only assume you are incredibly naive, or your entire statement was a sarcastic joke about how far these theories can go...cause that takes the cake as the most extreme CT for 9/11 ever.

Aw, c'mon, it's obvious Danny was making a joke. He's have to be even more insane than Nazinyc to beleive in that nonsense. And it's a well established fact that it's impossble to be more insane than Nazinyc.

9/11 skepticism.

Joan, again, the word is pseudoskepticism.

Skeptics employ rational thinking, logic, and evidence. Bermas and Avery have those in short supply.
