Darwin Was Wrong
Normally you would except some sort of social movement to improve with age, in a form of social Darwinism where the idiotic parts drop off and the more reasonable aspects survive and become dominant. Not so with trooferism though, there is nothing too idiotic to continue to be promoted by someone. Take for instance this OpEd from Salem-News. Keep in mind that this isn't by some 14 year-old who just watched Loose Change for the first time, this guy has been writing on 9/11 conspiracy stuff since at least 2006, and described himself as "a former U.S. Marine with twenty years of experience on the west coast as a television news producer, photojournalist, reporter and assignment editor".
Some lowlights:
This is curious, I would suggest that half of all living Americans still don't realize that a third building also came down that day, and it wasn't hit by an airplane. But it did contain a lot of records that certain members of the financial industry didn't miss. Then there are the billions of dollars in missing gold evacuated just before Building 7 pancaked to the ground.
Sweet jeebus! Even the Loose Change guys, hardly sticklers for in-depth research gave up this Die Hard 3 scenario about half a dozen versions ago, and even that was for the twin towers, not for building 7.
Then he goes beyond the merely idiotic into the patently offensive.
Jet fuel is similar to diesel and it doesn't burn very hot. Firefighters, talking on radios, talked about how the aircraft crash fire in one building were going to easily be extinguisher [sic] by a few firefighters.
The idea that fires burning over half a dozen floors of one of the largest skyscrapers in the world could be put out by a few firefighters is completely idiotic. If so why did the FDNY lose over 300 firefighters in the collapse? The others were there just because they had nothing better to do? I am assuming this is another bastardization of the famous quote mining of a firefighter referring to a single floor that he had observed, not the entire building.
Then he misrepesents 9/11 commissioner John Farmer:
There is a long list of federal investigators who say they were not allowed to do their jobs or complete the investigation. Tie this to the revelations in 9/11 Commissioner John Farmer’s book: “The Ground Truth: The Story Behind America’s Defense on 9/11″, where the author builds the inescapably convincing case that the official version is almost entirely untrue, according to our writer Gordon Duff, and you just might be lifting a corner of the dirtiest rug that ever was used to suppress truth.
Except Farmer does not actually believe this. As Pat pointed out earlier:
John Farmer- Well, let me just say that I think the [9-11 Commission] report is, uh, extremely accurate, and- and sets forth the facts of 9/11. And we actually did point out in the report the discrepancies between the accounts that were given and what we actually found.

Natural selection can only work with what's there, you need another mechanism to introduce new material.
Lest anyone think that is some legitimate newspapers. The "Salem News" appears to be just a collection of bloggers who live in the area.
i really wonder what could be considered "legitimate" news, it seems like everybody is conflicted and has a stake in perpetuating "left v right" paradigm.
its beyond obvious that fox is in the can for the GOP, same for msnbc only they lean to the left. all of the publics news sources are owned by a small hand full of corporations.
seriously what makes a news source legitimate? i'm guessing that the amount of validation it gives your preconceived idea is in direct relation to the level legitimacy you feel that news service merits....
Not posting dreck like this article would be the first requirement for being a "legitimate" news source.
John Farmer on how what the 9/11 Commission, public and media was told by military and government officials, 'was almost entirely, and inexplicably, untrue.
Well at least John can say that the 9/11 Commission was accurate in reporting the lies told by military and government officials.
No controversy here, move along.
"seriously what makes a news source legitimate?"
Reporting the news in a fair and balanced manner.
But where could one find such a thing?
seriously what makes a news source legitimate?
Undertaking some effort to verify the truthfulness of stories before running them.
Applying some reasonable concept of newsworthiness to what they report.
Having some professional standards for who they authorize to be journalists.
Articles that are coherently written.
Breaking a true, newsworthy story every once in awhile, and keeping erroneous stories to a minimum.
Nobody's perfect, but "legitimate news sources" make an effort to do these things.
The truther thing does work in an evolutionary sense. It does show us which members of the human population should be avoided and kept from sticking their toes in the gene pool.
Imaging a truther attempting to mate and then telling the woman all about 9/11 truth. Think of it as social birth control.
"Think of it as social birth control."
Think of it as evolution in action.
Speaking of evolution, what ever happened with Troofer Karen? Did she ever find a "lucky guy"?

Now THAT's evolution.

Question: Can anyone find so much as one sentence in Tim King's article that isn't in error?
Additionally, did anyone notice Tim King's reply to James? Here's King's reply:
"...Idiotic? You have jerk-like tendencies and any bozo who rallies to believe in anything that jackass Bush said is just as non-credible as they get. I didn't say anything about the 300, you have no idea how I feel about it, so don't blab your way through here with unfounded insinuations that could not be more untrue. Go read Gordon Duff's article, that's why I added a link to it Mr. Smarty Pants. Your incredible sheeplike view is the only insult to those firefighters, and police, and civilians who died that day, or did you forget about them..."
Notice that Tim King's reply is a classic "truther" non-answer, complete with compulsory references to "Smarty Pants" [SIC], "[y]our incredible sheeplike view" [SIC], etc. I'm surpried King didn't throw in "sheeple" for good measure.
%^)
That said, Tim King's article is a classic example of "truther journalism"; thus, it should be round-filed with extreme prejudice.

You are a fucking moron, Krazee.
You are literally from the shallow end of the gene pool, Krazee.
You are so fucking stupid that you're a Twoooofer™, Krazee.
You're about a about a chromosome short of a Biden, Krazee.
You're a retarded marmoset, Krazee.
You want to know how stoooopid you are, Krazee?
You're stooooooopidider than Raging Hemorrhoid, Krazee.
You want to know how stoooooopid you are, Krazee?
You are so short bus window licking stooooopid that you can't recognize a joke when you see one.
FTA: The Trade Tower buildings were specifically designed to withstand the impact of a jet liner...
I've always liked this Truther argument because a comeback is so easy: "Yes, it was. Also, the Titantic was specifically designed to be unsinkable."
Interesting, too, that all seven of his footnotes reference articles that he or other fruitloops wrote for salemnews.com. I don't think that would work real well in a master's thesis.
Nice comments by Anon and ConsDem. James's comments also bring out the "best" in the writer.
I especially like good old Deb Frisch and her worthy comment:
Deb Frisch February 26, 2010 11:36 am (Pacific time)
I'm 100% behind this article!!! I'm also 100% behind in my car payments, rent, and credit card bills.
Love to watch Lazarus scream and stamp his feet like a child after being shown his PAThetic ignorance and stupidity. Truly James Bennett-style scholarship every time. How many words in "Al Franken" again?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!!!!
Oh, sweet jeebus on a pogo stick!
It doesn't get any better than that.
I said 'You're about a about a chromosome short of a Biden', and, my goodnes, it took Krazee the Balless Wonder Klown™ about 30 seconds to prove me correct.
Stooooo-pid.
Looooo-ser, Krazee.
"How many words in "Al Franken" again?"

You're welcome Walt. Anything for a guy who stands up against his own country the way you do,
Roman Craig swings and misses yet again. What a shock. Lazarus is laughing at his ineptitude and posting incoherently because he's been humiliated, and Pat Curley thinks 'the column failed over 8 floors', but can't explain how that makes an entire building collapse with no resistance.
Yep, typical Friday at Same Loser Central.
"Lazarus is laughing at his ineptitude and posting incoherently because he's been humiliated"
Did you know that Krazee is so stupid that when he was a kid playing in the sandbox, the cat tried to cover him up.
And often times succeeded.
If there is a long list of Federal Investigators who were not allowed to do their jobs then why not name a few?
Not one of them said a word to the 9/11 Commission's staff? Not one bothered to call their congressional rep?
Think about it, how do we know about the "Phoenix Memo"? 'Cuz the FBI agent raised holy hell and mailed/faxed/e-mailed everyone that she could think of to get the story out. Why did the Gub'mint suppress all those other agents but not her...unless...she was in on it too...
Or this is just a load of crap. I'm going with a load of crap.
"Or this is just a load of crap. I'm going with a load of crap."
Check Walt's Depends - I think that's where the load came from.
Is Mark even aware that Philip Zelikow was Executive Director of the 9/11 Commission investigation?
