One More Request on Comments
Please, folks, try to cool it with the profane and abusive comments towards other commenters. I appreciate that this is an emotional issue, but I ask again that you play the ball, not the man. I don't want to play cop and start deleting comments, but I will if the abusive posts continue.

Why the warning now, Pat? That has been going on mostly from the OS side for at least since I've been around. In fact, a lot of the people might stop posting if you enforce this request. Better yet, that seems to be one of the few ways OS'ers can respond to anything posted on this blog.

You can't play the ball (The facts) with people that are in serious need of psychiatric help.
The issue isn't the ball in most of their cases. the issue IS the man, and they need to be called on it.

I have to side with BG on this one. I don't recall seeing him ever actually insult another commenter. Sure, he pisses on the graves of the 9/11 victims, rescuers, and families,(though in his defense, he is so mentally ill he doesn't realize it) but not commenters.

Half the Republicans in office are gay. Well we have a few who have been publicly outed anyway. But stating half is a bit much. Richard Nixon even discussed the Grove and how it is like a homosexual party.

If you use the stars that's okay, but I'd prefer if you'd get more creative, with words like "cretin" and "pinhead" and "macaca" (just kidding about the last one).
If you want to know why I seldom respond to comments here, it's because of the crude comments. If provoked, I can see it; I think BG's comment regarding the boyfriend on the other thread deserved a vulgar response and Jujigitami gave it to him. But Bill, despite frequent derailment attempts, does not abuse the other commenters and I'd be stunned if he actually said what is attributed to him by LD. I think you're recalling one of the other commenters.
Pat, I hear your reminder and I don't mind future reminders if I get out of hand.
I will try to avoid profanity but it is impossible to avoid ridicule when dealing with the troofers, since they have no grasp of reality, reason doesn't work.
As I have always said, we are all human, and lord knows we face the same shaite everyday with the CT crew, but always remember those who read here but do not post (they are the majority I would venture to say). A comment that is pure vulgarity will never, never play in a positive manner.
That said, occasionally you have just got to let rip and have at them with words...but like pat said, be creative...
